The answer is apparently yes. I will post odds, trying to take the juice out of the lines as much as possible, and every participant would start with 500 units.

The game will be ongoing and open to new entrants at any time. Hopefully we will migrate to vBookie at some point. But for now it's a one man show and I won't be making money, so the number of available lines will of course be limited.

Just an idea of a way people with various "bankrolls" could all compete against each other.

That would work perfectly. Given that the administrative settings can ensure that no real money is spent, I don't see why we couldn't install that here. I'd volunteer to be the user group that can post the odds.

Odds go A to B. You get the percent by Dividing A by A+B. So in other words for 3 to 2 you divide 2 by 5 (3+2) to get 40%.

the easiest example is 9 to 1. think of it as 9 chances in a hat vs 1 chance in a hat and you will see where the 10% comes from.

You're right... I just looked at it and read it as 5-2 instead of 7-2. Never mind... the juice here is pretty trivial with that correction. Carry on then. *sigh*

Okay I have reviewed the vBookie standard setup. It starts with 500 "vcash" for everyone and changing that default to 1000 appears to require some administrative editing of the code.

Rather than request that the FOFC admins do that work if and when we get vBookie here, I am going to cut our starting point from 1000 to 500. Therefore, I will be cutting all wagers posted before now in half unless otherwise instructed.

I just don't think I could handle the load required to manually input and settle all the bets if I had the same number open here.
