FWIW UConn's starting QB went out (probably for the season) to injury. So UConn played over 3 quarters of the game with a RS Freshman backup. The passing game wasn't pretty, but then again, it didn't have to be UConn ended up with over 300 yards rushing.

Probably Louisville. Maybe WVU. It'll be interesting to see what Rutgers team shows up. The one that grabbed the lead against Pitt or the one that struggled to hang on. I won't be completely sold on Rutgers unless they beat WVU tomorrow. I'm not sold on USF either, part of me thinks they caught lightning in a bottle in the Louisville game. Hall is good, but they are yet another Big East team without a reliable QB.

UConn's too young, but with only a few seniors they should be pretty good next year, particularly if Hernandez can develop in the passing department now that he's the QB.

I really don't know what to make of Rutgers, but I think tomorrow will answer my questions.

We've seen them look:

Like a real-deal 1-A team in the first halves against Pitt and Illinois
Like crap while struggling to beat Buffalo and Villanova
Like a total joke while blowing a lead against Illinois and nearly blowing a lead agasint Pitt.

I'm not sure if it's lack of motivation or lack of depth in the second half of games, but it's going to have to end if they have serious bowl-game aspirations.

I'm still hung over from that game. ESPN makes the games so long you can drink way too much. I really wanted that shut out, they would have been over 240:00 at home if they had gotten it.

DJ Hernandez had one chance to play QB at Connecticut. It would be an injury to Bonislawski this season. They brought in 2 more freshman this season, Dennis Brown and Billy Cundiff. I believe that USC was on Cundiff before he had a bad injury in high school.

Hernandez was a state player of the year, and his younger brother (TE) is UConn's first recruit signed for 2007. So, he's got some supporters just because of where he is from. I have always just figured he would end up going the Keron Henry route, where he would be outplayed under center and end up in more of a role where he is a receiver on offense, or maybe even end up on the defensive side of the ball.

As for the Big East, I could see UConn ending up at 5-2, I just can't see them getting past WVU and Louisville. I think it's more likely that they end up 4-3 if they get tripped up by USF or Rutgers maybe. I do think the schedule broke their way, the 3 road games are Pitt, Cincinnati and WVU. Since they probably wouldn't beat WVU at home anyway it was nice to have home field against Syracuse and Rutgers.
