For those of you who enjoy wagering on the games I have decided to make 5 college picks a week and post them with a little anaylisis. Feel free to chime in. I will update my results each week.
Wisconson-Bowling Green-Take under 55.5. I just don't see them getting this many points in the first game of the season. Booker Stanley will see lots of carries and grind down Bowling Green to pull away at the end. Wisconsin will keep constant pressure on Omar Jacobs and he will never get comfortable in the pocket.
Iowa-Ball State- Take Iowa -39. I know it's a ton of points but on top of everything else Ball State just had 13 players suspended. It's gonna be horrible.
Kent-Michigan State- Take Kent +20. They have a QB in Cribbs who can run and throw. State has a good young team led by DeAndra Cobb and will win pretty eaisly, but 20 is alot of points.
Louisville-Kentucky- Take the over 61.5. I know it is alot of points, but Louisville has almost it's whole offense returning and they are looking to justify all the hype. Look for Louisville to come out strong and not let up. I see a 55-14 game.
Wyoming-Florida- Take Florida -24. Could this be the year for Chris Leak? Florida is another team with something to prove. They will show Wyoming lots of different looks and Urban Meyer will have even better talent to work with.

Are you back in Jersey already, Lathum?
I've seen UTEP anywhere from 9.5 to 11.5 point favorites for tonights game. For the love of god, bet on the Miners! This is about as much of a sure thing as I've ever seen. If we don't win by 20+ points I will be very disappointed in my Miners...

Thanks. We actually had to wait an extra day otherwise we would have been driving through the remnants of the hurricane.
I like those picks, espcially the Florida one. Gators are 4-0 ATS, outscoring teams an average of 54-8 their last 4 season openers.
I try to stay away from college football early in the year.... Only one game played this weekend.
UCLA -10 over San Diego State
the over has been hit before halftime in the Wisconsin/BG game:(
but Iowa is looking gooooooood

yeah...Kent State is hanging around Miscigan State.
I didnt notice this in your analysis before, but Anthony Davis was drafted by the Colts. So he won't be getting many carries today. :)

I'm hoping NIU can cover the spread against Michigan this afternoon...

Cobb graduated last year. That said State is going to put up the points(and give up the points) this year. They should be 2-0 going into the ND game. If they win that one It could be an interesting UM MSU game this year.

Badgers broke the over all by themselves! And only threw the ball TEN times.

The Miners won 31-17 last night, easily covering the spread. The were actually up 31-0 very early in the second quarter but then went all conservative the rest of the game. Mike Price is too nice sometimes... ;)

14 points on a 10 point spread is "easily"? Not saying it was a close game, but a bogus fumble return TD or somesuch could very well have swung those points in the waning minutes.

Sorry, the final was actually 34-17 and NMSU scored their last touchdown in the final minute...

Proof that it's tough to pick in the first week: All of those picks seemed reasonable and only 1 of the 5 was correct.
