Franklin has suggested that a thread topic for recipie exchanging might go over well because there are a bunch of folks on here that seem to enjoy cooking .
Personally I love exchanging great recipie ideas and recieving new inspirations to try out.
I dont have a real favorite food, I love all kinds of foods...Italian, Mexican, Seafood, BBQ ect. and as my screename might suggest to some of you I love just about anything Hot & Spicy." Capsicum is the essence in chilli Peppers that makes them hot."
Im just about half Sweedish / half norwegian and I have a plethora of recipies brought over from Sweeden and Norway passed down to me from my Grandma that I would be happy to share.. Anybody interested?

BTW
Beef is whats for dinner tonight;
Tonights menu includes
Steaks marinated for 24 hours and then grilled
baked potatoes "A favorite of Franklin's"
Corn on the cob "picked fresh from my garden"
green salad with the works
And double layer choclate birthday Cake with choclate frosting "Happy B-day babe" Yesterday was his birthday ;-)

This recipe isn't exactly, beef, nor is it dinner.... but we get rave reviews at parties and pot lucks:

BEAN DIP
Servings: 24
Yield: 3 Cups

Preparation Time: 45 minutes

1 cup sour cream
1 12-ounce package cream cheese
20 drops Tabasco sauce
1/2 cup chopped green onions
1 1 1/4-ounce package taco mix
1 9-ounce can bean dip
1/2 cup grated Cheddar cheese, or more
1 14 1/2-ounce package tortilla chips, serve alongside

Soften cream cheese. Mix all ingredients until smooth. Cover with Cheddar cheese. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 - 30 minutes. Serve with tortilla chips.

Definitely not Atkins friendly, but really, really yummy

You should make a 7-layer dip instead. Still yummy, and one of my all-time favorites...

TK's Mom's 7-Layer Dip (which TK's Mom got from her friends Chuck & Meg)
3 medium ripe avocados
2 Tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup mayonaise (I must confess I've never used this, it's suppsed to help the flavor and help the binding/firmness of the stuff)
1 pkg. taco seasoning mix (I use the Old El Paso low salt version)
1 can (15 oz.) refried beans
1 large green onion, chopped
3 medium tomatoes, chopped
Chopped black olives (I hate olives, not sure how many of these to use)
1 pkg. sharp cheddar cheese (usually I use the 2 cup pre-shredded packages)
A bit of hot sauce (a la Tabasco or your favorite)

Mash avocadoes with lemon, salt, and pepper.
Seperately combine sour cream, mayonaise, and taco mix.
Mix refried beans with hot sauce.
Spread the bean mixture onto a plate.
Then, spread the avocado mixture on top of the bean mixture.
Spread the sour cream mixture on top of the avocado miture.
Then spread the shredded cheese on top of that.
Then the green onions, then tomatoes, then olives (if you choose to use them).

Serve chilled or at room temperature. This takes about 10 minutes to make, and I usually make it on a 10" dinner plate.

Dola,
I was going to start a thread here called "FOFC Recipe Club." I'd been meaning to do it for a few weeks now. capsicum, want to change the title of your thread to that, and we'll make this the recipe clearing house thread? I'll see if I can dig up the other recipes that have been mentioned here at some point.

Capsicum is the essence in chilli Peppers that makes them hot.

Actually, isn't it true that Capsicum is just the genus of plants (peppers) that naturally produce the spicy ingredient capsaicin? I'm a bit picky, but I think that's more accurate.

Odd trend here -- on the original post & now on the Friday night bump, I've had dinner out in the same town (notable since it isn't that common a food destination for us normally).
