Now I can see where Bradley can question Kent's leadership (sitting in the corner, etc.), but I don't get the racism part. This all started when Kent questioned Bradley about not scoring on a double.

Any thoughts from Dodger fans?

you know, for once - it would be nice if people read an article , and not the damn headline some editorial flunky put on it. He didnt call him a racist - hell, what he said is a far cry from that. I can argue that someone doesnt understand me without me calling them a racist.

Yeah, and thats what I was asking. I couldn't find anything regarding racism in there, so whats the deal? People just make shit up? Ok then.

Sorry then Fouts- misinterpreted you. I just see a writer trying to stir up trouble. While I regard the Dodgers as wretched villans, Bradley is a guy who I actually like a bit.

`The problem is, he doesn't know how to deal with African-American people,'' Bradley said. ``I think that's what's causing everything. It's a pattern of things that have been said -- things said off the cuff that I don't interpret as funny. It may be funny to him, but it's not funny to Milton Bradley. But I don't take offense to that because we all joke about race in here. Race is an issue with everything we do in here.

He may not have said "racist", but that sure reads like he's saying it's "racial" ... and I'm not sure the two aren't close enough to the same to the average reader as to make the headline accurate.

Now I'm waiting for Jeff Kent to say that Milton Bradley doesn't know how to deal with country music-loving truck washers.

I'm not taking sides here...but I think it's worth noting that this is at least the second time that Kent has had issues, whether he started it or not, with a teammate of color.

This could be mountains and molehills, or it could be smoke and fire.

They're both winners, aren't they?

Didn't Bradley get traded for a bag of baseballs at the beginning of last season because he was a clubhouse cancer despite having pretty good upside?

The Bonds incident happened when Barry stood up for a white teammate who Kent was arguing with. I don't think color is an issue in that case.

Jeff Kent is one of those guys who could have an argument with an empty room. Milton Bradley appears to be a little crazy. I don't think anyone should be surprised that something has kicked off between them. I also doubt color is an issue in this case.

Bradley is a firecracker, and Kent is just a man with a sour disposition toward everbody, as Ryan S said. This isn't terribly shocking. Kent and Bonds in one locker room for what? 5 years? Yikes.

I agree with Fouts's initial point. I heard it on the radio today and thought he had a very reasonable criticism of Kent as a leader. However, he escalated it needlessly with the racial undertones. It should be noted, he not only pointed out racial issues on the part of Kent, but in baseball in general and with the media (though it wasn't directly quoted on air as far as I've heard, he seemed to think there was a racial underpinning to the media questioning him first or something like that). Once he decided to place the race card, this sort of fracas can only end badly, especially if Kent is the jerk most think he is.

Actually Bradley was trading for one of the dodgers top outfield prospects in Franklin Gutierrez and pitcher Andrew Brown
