I've been undergoing a lot of stress lately. I have also had some sharp headpains (isepick like) near my ears, forehead and around both eyes. They don't last long but it happens about 3-4 times per week and during those days about 1-3 times. Its been going on for about 2 weeks. Now, the back of my neck is tender to touch with the touch of the hand can soothe (somewhat) the neck pain "somewhat". At times I reproduce the pain as when I toch my neck I can feel a srain in my head....but only sometimes.

Don't really have any medical knowledge, but I think any type of stress can cause pains in any part of your body.

I don't think every type of stress is isepick like that toch's your neck enough that you feel a srain in your head.

Well, sometimes the pain comes and goes.

I have a physical on Monday and I'll tell the doc about it. It just a little scary, thats all.

This pain is also associated with ear pain (or some time ache) - (in both ears).

In fact (one time) I turned my head to the right and felt a "strain or pinch) from my left ear to the middle of my back. Kinda getting worried now....

From my experience, you can have head pain from neck aches. A good professional massage does wonders for it.

I've been undergoing some severe stress latley. In the last 7 months;

1) My best friend died
2) Lost my job of 10 years because of a plant closing ( we got bought out)
3) My brother was struck then crushed and nearly died. He is still not doing very well. He lost a limb and had massive brain injuries.

Two days ago I had to go into the ER because I thought I was having a heart attack. Everything checked out OK though. Now I am getting severe head pains. They are sharp and only last about 2-5 sec. I do have some pain in my neck which feels like tentson. Both of my ears (inner part) have pain associated with my neck and head pain.

Crap man, I just gotta settel down. :(

You called?

Hard to speculate on what this is from the information given, but it certainly could be stress induced. It also could be that you are developing cluster headaches which have some of the symptoms that you describe. Some experts theorize that cluster headaches are caused by stress while others think they are vascular events. Are your eyes turning red, runny, or itching?

No. No eye or any other external symptoms. The pain starts from the back of my neck (bottom area) the goes up the neck then near (in) or behind the ear. My ears - at times - feel like thet are clogged, as if water may be in them - but that only happens sometimes. I guess there may be an inner ear infection. (?)
At times I get sharp pains in different parts of my head. Sometimes they are link to the neck (meaning I can push on the back of my neck and then the pain will be associated with the sharp head pains) or sometimes they are all by themselves as if they are not linked.

edit: I did get real dizzy once but did not feel nausea. (A few years ago I was diagnosed with vertigo due to an accident).

I'm not sure what it is. Cluster headaches almost always have tearing or reddening of the eye. It sounds like a good thing that you are going to your doctor on Monday, but I wouldn't stress about it too much until than (much easier said than done I know) unless there is a change in your status (i.e. you pass out, you start vomiting profusely, etc.)

Welcome to my world.

I get these type of headaches ( neck tension turning into sharp headaches ) reasonably frequently. I don't get these at all when I am on vacation but they come about once a week when I'm working. I can usually take a headache pill to relieve the symptoms.

As a teenager and in my early 20s, I used to get migraines fairly often. They were always related to physical exertion like when I played soccer or basketball. I had the aura in one eye which turned into fuzzy vision. This led to an aversion to bright light and developed into blinding head pain which eventually turned to nausea and vomiting. The whole process took 2-3 hours and I felt OK after that but this is mild compared to people who experience migraines over days.

I'm just glad I don't get the migraines anymore as I can usually deal with these stress headaches a lot better.

I hope things work out for you.
