Its starting to get rediculous. This is at least the second time in this career alone that a player that I have given big dollars to in FA has gotten hurt.

I know this kind of stuff happens in real life, but it happens all too often to me in FOF.

It must just be bad luck. Of course, I've never signed free agents for that kind of money.

Wow. You've had at least 2 players get seriously injured?

This game has major flaws.

No, but every time I reach into my wallet on a stud player, he takes a 2 season type injury.

How come some scrubby starting FS never takes a 46 game injury? I know that FS will not be on the field all that often, but in probably 200 seasons of simming FOF, the Stud with huge bonus money takes the big injury. Never the shitty guy on the 1 year deal.

Shitty guys do get serious injuries, but good players get them far more often because they are on the field WAY more on average.

We were just talking about this in our office league.

We're getting ready for week 13, and 21 players have injuries of 20 or more weeks left (not counting guys at 17 or 18 weeks left that probably got hurt a few weeks ago). My problem with injuries in FOF is that there are too many BIG injuries where too many players miss the entire season, and these are definitely skewed towards players that play more. We need more minor injuries, where players miss a couple of games, and fewer of these career-ending injuries.

I like the big injuries. The fact is these type of injuries do happen, and since the game is so easy it provides a challenge when you have money wrapped up in a player who is hurt. Where is the challenge if it doesnt include this?

Besides, there are times my starting QB, RB and a few key WR and or Ol have been out and I still score at the same rate as when yy studs are on the field. It doesnt matter if its a 1st year fa, it seems the game looks at your roster strenght and not your starting line up. It works like that on D too. I have had both starting CBs out and scrubs in and still shut people out. Its kinda lame.

It might be easy in single player, but it's not easy in multiplayer. I'm not complaining about the injuries happening, just that the big injuries seem to happen a lot, out-of-proportion to minor injuries.

21 players doesn't sound like too many to me; it seemed there were many, many more on the IRs in real life than that at that point in the season. I know in my case I tend to note injuries, then forget about them and that player until they're healthy and playing again.

I will concede a couple of points:

1) Injuries tend to be skewed toward front-line starters in FOF because there is little provision for practice and/or off-field injuries; therefore, the guys that play more are more likely to get hurt. A smaller, related factor, is the fact that FOF limits you to a 46-man active roster ALL SEASON, including the exhibition season. Real teams have bigger active rosters during most of preseason.

2) A quirk in the FOF injury healing system means that guys who are hurt for, say, 52 weeks, will be out for more than one calendar year.

When my backup players stink, they don't play just like the starters. What version of FOF are you playing?
