I began a dynasty after the patch, 5.0A I am only a few games into the first season. Is it worth deleting the dynasty and starting over because of the new patch 5.0B?
Does the changes made in patch 5.0B take place to current dynasties that existed before 5.0B? I relaize the player files do not change, but does the game play situations that were fixed in the latest patch take effect?

I began mine w/ the original version 5.0, have continued through both patches and see no reason to change.

It's not going to hurt you to continue your dynasty. To the best of my knowledge, neither of JimG's patches touched the saved game files, so they should take care of the fixes. I personally started the five great QBs dynasty with the 5.0A patch, and am continuing on with the 5.0B patch with no ill effects.

Go ahead, you will be fine. As I understand it, all the changes work with current careers. The only thing that won't be are the ratings with the original players file that were tweaked "to reflect 2003 performances." (i.e. Ricky Williams not so good). Those effects will only occur upon starting a new career. The ratings changes are pretty minor though so I wouldn't worry about them.

I've played the same dynasty through 5.0, 5.0a, and 5.0b. One thing I am expecting is that QB records might be difficult to break, since I played 10-12 years with 5.0 and the inflated QB stats.

has anyone experienced problems with 5.0b?
I just loaded up my game to find several players retired from my roster that weren't retired before? no mention of them retiring in the transaction log?

dola
MANY players retired without notice...probably at least half my roster
the game is licensed...
also notice that if I go into individual statistics (this in the staff hiring stage), that about 500 Morten Anderson's are listed with differing statistics per each listing...but for every category, passing, rushing, etc.
what the hell happened here??????

double dola
just checked arizona, and sure enough...there are about 500 Morten Anderson's on the roster
this is really weird
after installing 5.0b, I was able to play without problems for like a season, now the file is all jacked up
this chaps my ass, I was having a good time with this career
don't suppose there's any way that the file can be fixed

did you back up your dynasty before installing the new patch? if so, maybe you can go back and play with the old patch for a while.

I patched and have continued playing my current career "problem free" for probably 7 or 8 seasons post 5.0b patch.

nope, no backup unfortunately...I know better for next time now :)
I played problem free after the 5.0a patch...played at least one season problem free after the 5.0b patch
it was only upon loading the league file to continue yesterday that something was obviously wrong...and loading was all it took to have it screwed up

One thing I lost was the custom logos I'd imported. Had to redo it as the new install overwrites everything.

Very, very strange and not at all sure it is the "patch" as I have closed and opened that original dynasty/career multiple times since beginning and then patching it without a problem.

yup, I'm curious too...I've e-mailed Jim, hopefully that will produce an answer

response from Solecismic customer service says it was either third party utilities (of which I used none except for the real rosters), lack of hard drive space (of which I have plenty), or hard drive damage (of which I have none per disk scans).
still lost...

I agree that this is really weird. I've had no such problems whatsoever, and as I said, I'm still using the same career that I've used throught the two patches.

I agree SD, and as mentioned, I had played through 5.0a patch without problems, but now the explosion.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled from the 5.0b file, relicensed...hopefully that will resolve any future problems.
Just really at a loss on this one...
