Aoccdrnig to rscheearch at an Elingsh uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, olny taht the frist and lsat ltteres are at the rghit pcleas. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae we do not raed ervey lteter by ilstef, but the wrod as a wlohe.

I think I noticed "researched" was mispelled and "English" but then I didn't realize what was happening until the 2nd line. Kind of cool.

Okay, I know, I'm easily amused...

It is pretty interesting. I breezed right through that without the endless errors causing any real issue.

I must be a very slow reader, because I can understand it all, but I almost have a seizure doing so.

I'm not going to bother going to the other thread. Not sure if I said this there or not. . . but if you think that's neat and can pick up on it quickly, you now have the basic idea of how to speed read. Practice and you'll be going through War and Peace in an afternoon.

That's funny, because I had no probalems whatsoever reading the mess, but I've been a really slow reader my entire life. No matter how much I try to work on it, I can't read fast.

Well, actually I don't think it has anything to do with my reading. Or it might...if I try to read things quickly, I end up forgetting them. Almost like my mind doesn't have enough time to "save" it to memory before I move onto the next word. SO I'll read through a paragraph quickly, and remember reading all of the words, I just won't remember what words they were.

And then sometimes when I'm reading fast, I'll read words that aren't there. Like I'll replace words in my mind with similar looking words. So, for example, descention becomes disection when I'm reading it. And sometimes I'll just read "can not" as "can". As though the "not" wasn't even there. And then I have to go back since the next sentance won't make sense and then I see "Oh! it's 'can not'".

And this all happens when I read at my normal pace, too.

Anyway, sorry to rant...just so annoyed at my failed attempts to speed read and I have so many books I want to read.

Oddly enough, that one seems to work even when the first and last letters are thrown into the middle of the word...
