Having some random lockups on the pc and want to use my restore disks to get a fresh start. I have never done this and was hoping someone could answer a question for me.

Since I've had the machine the only hardware I've added is a raedeon 9550 vid card and a gig RAM stick.

When I do the restore do I need to remove the vid card since the computer goes back to original settings and then install it again after the restore? Or can I do the restore with the card in place and run the raedeon card driver disk right after the restore?

I'm assuming leaving the RAM in won't make a difference at all.

Thanks,
Sweed

You should be fine if you leave the video card inside. It might even detect it for you.

thanks I appreciate the answer. I wondered if that might be the case.

I think it's mainly just checking for the system bios. At least thats been my experience in the past.
