Peyton Manning. He was the QB for Tennessee so I hated him as a 'Bama fan. He almost won the Heisman against Woodson who I liked due to being a Michigan fan. Manning versus Brady, well, you get the idea.

I've actually come around on Jeter. Back in college (oh, ten years ago or so) I couldn't stand the guy. Now I'm actually a fan, gold gloves notwithstanding.

I have never heard a Cardinal whine. Haters. Cant stand winners. Too bad for you.
Any athlete that ever played at Iowa State. Doesnt matter who it is or was. They all stink.

Never?
“I watched the replay, and the catcher was setting his glove up high,’’ Carpenter said. “There’s no need for that when you’re throwing 100 [mph]. It’s not like I can hit. And he missed by three feet. It’s not right. He’s a big-league pitcher, he doesn’t need to do that.
“I know he’s didn’t try to hit me, but don’t put your glove up there. Throw the ball down and away. Anytime you throw the ball up there like that it’s unacceptable.’‘
tarcone

Thats not whining. Thats another player breaking the unwritten code. You dont throw at a pitcher.

He didn't.
I know he’s didn’t try to hit me
Carpenter just thinks that nobody that throws hard should pitch him inside. Just in case he might get hit.

Ah. The part where he says "Its not right." That may be borderline whiny. But I never saw that quote. Cardinal players are professionals for the most part. They rarely whine. Well, Colby Rasmus whined. But he was a baby anyway. So the Cards traded him.

La Russa
St. Louis manager Tony La Russa filed a complaint with the umpiring crew during that series opener, suggesting the LED "ribbon" board that wraps around the ballpark above the loge level shone brighter while the Brewers batted. The suggestion was that the lighting was darker when the Cardinals batted, making it more difficult to see the ball in their 6-2 defeat.
Wainwright, asked what happened when Matt Holliday dropped a routine flyball.
"He lost the ball in the 50,000 white towels shaking in front of his face. It doesn’t seem really fair that an opposing team should be allowed to shake white towels when there’s a white baseball flying through the air. Dodger Blue towels — how about that?”
JPhillips

Pujols
“Maybe if we were the New York Yankees maybe we would have played an 8 o’clock game today. It is what it is. I just don't understand when we play a 4 o’clock game the league knows we have tough shadows out there, but there's nothing you can do.’’
Duncan
I'm sure he had pine tar on his cap. He didn't have any problem getting a grip. Balls like that can generate a lot more movement than a slick ball that hasn't been rubbed up ... I've been around for 40-plus years now and I've never seen a major-league baseball game played with balls like that.

The Cardinals not whiny? The same Cardinals that has a manager who filed a complaint against the Brewers for what was it? Stealing signs? ( I may be remembering this one incorrectly) Carpenter has complained that the balls are too slick at GABP, that the mound is not right, has complained about lingering smoke after fireworks at GABP, and has questioned how he will explain the Reds-Cards fight to his children. Thats just my favorite team that he has complained about. I can only assume there are more.

Well, kicking at a player with cleats and ending his career is a wussy move.
So he had to explain why the Reds were such bush players that fight like girls. I guess that could be whining.

"ending his career"... lets be real. Love LaRue, but come on he was a what, 35 year old catcher who could never hit, he wasn't playing past 2010 anyway. The fight was just a gift-wrapped excuse for Cards fans trying to blame the Reds for beating them up in every aspect of the year

Ok, I don't know if I really "hate" him, but I'll go Roger Clemmens.
The guy should have been thrown out of the game in the World Series when he threw the broken bat piece at Mike Piazza. If he wasn't Roger Clemmens, and it wasn't the World Series, or one of the previous 2 were not true...dude would have been riding pine the rest of that game. Pissed me off to no end.

Moises Alou. His overreaction to Steve Bartman caused it to be a much bigger incident than it needed to be, led to the negative fan reaction that pretty much ruined Bartman's life, and unhinged his team to the point where they blew up and allowed 8 subsequent runs.

Matt Millen.
Worst GM in the history of the NFL, yet now I still have to listen to your lack of intelligence on a weekly basis because some fucking moron hired you and put you on TV to talk about a sport that you clearly dont grasp. You're like a doufus, dumbed down version of Madden as an announcer. Think Cousin Eddie to Clark Griswald. You stumble over one syllable words, overstate the obvious, and focus on nonsense while ignoring the actual goings on in the game. Everyone without a mute button on their remote is dumber for listening to your incoherent babble.

Cam Newton. Hershel Walker. Bo Jackson. I so hated the last two during my childhood. Later, I at least somewhat liked Bo for the "Bo Knows" advertising, but I don't think I hated an athlete more growing up. Cam is way self explanatory.
Jeff Buckus. Vastly as a Lion. Just because you have been with the Lions all this time and they are finally good doesn't mean you are good. You were starting all of those years when they sucked and went 0-16 too. Raiola is lesser guilty of this as well. Buckus is the one who gets caught doing dumb stuff far too often. I don't think I have ever in my life have been able to say the Lions have a good run blocking line. People like Sanders and Best got yards due to legit game breaking speed.

LOL at the Brewers and Reds fans in this thread. 18 pennants, possibly 11 championships. At least the Reds have some tradition but talking about whiny with "Beast Mode" and Nyjer Morgan on your squad is laughable at best.

Hey I hate the Brew Crew as much as the next biased-(enter Central team here) fan, but I kinda enjoy Tony Plush's swagger.
As for the Cubbies.
I was in St Louis for the 4th of July and got to watch a hell of a Reds/Cards game at Busch Stadium. This guy sitting next to me was a Cards fan, and we got along decently. After the Reds lost 1-0, he turned to me and said, "Hey man, at least we both agree we hate the Cubs." I nodded. He then said, "What do Gay Bears and the World Series have in common? No Cubs"
