Hey guys -

My dad is a lifelong Packer fan, but has never attended a game. Because he is starting to get up there in age (60+) and a few recent reminders in life that you are never promised tomorrow, I have decided to take him to the game tomorrow vs. Denver to cross this off his "bucket list". Just wanted to ask a few questions, get any advice, words of wisdom, tips, etc. on the town/stadium/parking/whatever so we can enjoy the experience as much as possible.

- We live approximately 3 1/2 to 4 hours away according to online directions. With it being a 3:15 game we are not going tonight and planning on leaving around 7am tomorrow morning. This would get us there around 10:30-11:00, thinking that is plenty of time to maybe tailgate, walk around the stadium, watch warmups and things like that. Does that seem like too much time? Not enough?

- I have done very little research as this is somewhat spur of the moment. Planning on getting tickets from stubhub tonight... are there any better/cheaper options? Would it make sense to go all the way up there and see what we can find on the street?

- RE: Seating. Hoping to find some reasonably priced seats on either side (not endzone) and in the lower bowl, even if toward the top of that section. What are anybody's preferences on where to sit, how big of a difference is lower bowl from the 300 level? Honestly, it doesnt look like there's a bad seat in the house.

- Parking. Is there parking at the stadium, and if so how much? Are there other places to park (people's yards, lots, etc.) that are cheaper and not miles away?

- Tailgating - Neither of us are big drinkers, but I understand that tailgating is a huge thing up there. Any tips/advice?

- What are the places to see, tour, get pictures of, etc. in the stadium? Just looking to get the full experience and get as many memories into a photo as possible.

- Traffic - Any advice on getting into/out of Green Bay and to/from the stadium?

We prolly wont be sticking around too long after the game so we can get home, so dont really need any recs on bars or anything for after the game. Mostly looking to get the whole "experience" before and during the game.

Thanks in advance for any and all thoughts..... really looking forward to it even though I'm not a Packer fan just knowing how happy my dad will be.

Which way are you coming from?

Tomorrow is a 'gold' package game which means it is 1 of the 2 games the Milwaukee season ticket holders attend. If you are going through Milwaukee, traffic will be heavier going up 41 or 43 (S to N). You probably picked a good game to go to ticket price wise. The Brewers are playing at Miller Park at roughly the same time. This might deflate ticket prices somewhat.. also Denver is an AFC opponent and is too far away to draw a significant out of town fan base so.. I think ticket prices on Stub Hub will be pretty decent.

For buying at the game, scalping tickets on game day is legal in Ashwaubenon’s Scalper’s Alley, a section of Armed Forces Drive between the Don Hutson Center and Brown County Arena. I thought there were 2 sections.. do a google search. I've never bought tickets from the zone, but if you want to try you should have some success.

Seats.. If you are in the endzone, try to get higher up.. like row 25+... gives you a better downward angle on play.

Parking is pretty much anywhere and everywhere. I'd say plan on $20.. The parking lot next to I believe the Stadium View bar is a pretty good spot. You'll walk about 1 mile to the stadium, but isn't bad.

Tailgating.. ya.. pretty much everyone does it. Everywhere... if they could do it in the middle of the street they would.

The Packer Hall of Fame is in the atrium. It is an absolute must see however.. it will probably be EXTREMELY busy on gameday.

Hey Mustang -

Thanks so much for the info. We will be coming in on 41 from the Madison area. Hoping to get in around noonish so plenty of time to walk around, take pictures, etc.

Just bought our seats off Stubhub, ended up in Section 131 (corner), Row 39.... think they will be decent just hope most of the action is at our end! We have to pick them up at the Hilton Garden Inn on Lombardi Ave, and apparently can park right there for $20 so might just do that.

You are right, this really worked out great as with our travel a 315 game is much much easier, it's still early enough that it should be pretty great weather, and with the Brewers playing maybe wont be as nuts and helped hold prices down (along with them playing the Broncos and not a main rival).

Really starting to get excited now, even though I'm not a Packer fan (go Eagles!) it will be great to see my dad have a good time and just get the experience of the town/stadium/etc.... just one of those iconic treks a true sports fan loves, like Wrigley or Fenway. Going to take a lot of pics!!

Thanks again for the info

Hey Mustang -

Thanks so much for the info. We will be coming in on 41 from the Madison area.

You going up 151 from Madison to Fond Du Lac? (I would.. I would think it would take time off because it does for me when going from West Bend to Madison.

As a note, Oshkosh to Appleton on 41 is a mess with alot of construction so, might slow you down a bit.

Have fun!

Plenty of parking at the stadium, although I understand it's a little pricey. As a result, yeah, lots of people will rent their yards out for parking - particularly as the city doesn't permit parking on city streets in the vicinity of the stadium on Packer Sundays. The further away you get from Lambeau, the more the price drops; you can probably park a mile or so away on Ridge for around $10. I see people all the time parking up by where I live (maybe two miles from Lambeau) and just hoofing it.

Packer Hall of Fame seems to be a popular spot, underneath the stadium.

Bwahahaha. Pray. Sacrifice small children to jealous gods. Be really, really patient.

I think that might actually be part of why people park up by me, since I live right by the entrances to 41/172. The idea is probably that by the time they get to their cars, traffic has thinned out some and they can easily depart. Or, if traffic is still heavy, at least they don't have long to wait to get onto the highway.

The lights, you see, go into "facilitate Lambeau traffic" mode post-game. That and people lingering in the intersection when the lights DO change make it difficult for people on the side streets onto Oneida itself. Be warned.

Have fun!

Great choice of a game to attend.
