I live in a suburb of Atlanta and would like check out next year's DragonCon with my son.
Not the best way to start a thread, sorry.

DragonCon impresario Edward Kramer, who has long claimed to be too ill to stand trial on multiple child molestation charges in Georgia, was caught Tuesday staying in a Connecticut motel room with a 14-year-old boy, authorities said.

FWIW, he hasn't been involved in DragonCon since 2000.
I've gone the last two years and it's been a blast. This past year they had Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, and James Tolkan there from Back to the Future. Also Carrie Fisher, William Shatner, Nicholas Brendan, Edward James Olmos, Eliza Dushku, and lots more.

I've been to DragonCon each of the past four years. I was apparently about 15 feet from FOFC member ISiddiqui at a DragonCon event this year, but I wasn't sure it was him, so I didn't go running up to him to give him tongue. An hour or two later, I figured out that it was him, so I missed an opportunity.
I hope nobody starts a thread about that.

Umm ... isn't he still a minority shareholder? At least that's what the lawsuit he & Richard Hatch filed back in '09 seems to indicate.
I think he's out of the operations side as far I've been able to figure out but it might be a stretch to say he isn't still involved (since he apparently still gets a cut of the revenue).

I worked on staff for the first few years of Dragoncon, and I can say that guy always creeped me out.

I was super sad about this. I almost started a thread about that... well, missing Pumpy... not having his tongue in my mouth.

Hat tip to the DragonCon organizers for making the best of things. Multiple channels streaming all free content for five days. It ain't the same as being there for those who do such things but, dammit, they didn't roll over and die either.
Dragon Con will be free and virtual this weekend — yes, even the parade (https://www.ajc.com/life/music-blog/dragon-con-will-be-free-and-virtual-this-weekend-yes-even-the-parade/I4MQIGHEGZHVFDFL3IF2IMLYXY/)
