my iTunes got hacked today, to the tune of $500. (And I'm lucky that it was limited to that amount, that's paypal's limit of monthly purchases through iTunes)

And I'm pretty sure I know who benefits from it.

You see, the hacker purchased approximately 100 gift copies of a game called "trace-zero" by a company called "game fruit". So probably they're trying to either filter money from Compromised itunes accounts, maximize the game's rankings, or both.

And this is apparently an ongoing thing:

So now I have to spend days fighting, er, working with itunes and paypal to dispute the charges, etcetera. Damn good thing I get paid tommorrow.

Between this, work being a stone cold bitch, and lack of sleep, yeah, I'm in FTW mode.

It's so completely off the radar of most prosecutor's offices....or they can't figure out who is supposed to charge the offenders, or where they're supposed to charge them. Agreed there needs to be a huge overall in this area.
