Just wondering, what would you want in terms of football ratings for players. What would they determine?

You mean, if one was to design a new game from scratch?

Is their a site that would explains about players and what kind of skills they have?

Like for example, a player has athletic ability-which makes him better able to....

When I played football it was "Agile, Mobile, Hostile." :)

Greed (The rating for players with bad agents)
Envy (The troy Hambrick rating)
Sloth (The Randy rating)
Wrath (The Warren Sapp Rating)
Pride (The aging veteran rating)
Lust (The Joe Horn to Willie Roaf's wife rating)
Gluttony (The O-lineman rating)

This should replace astrological signs as a basis for personality.

I think that less is more in a lot of cases. I prefer a LB rating of "tackling" rather than 18 different ratings like "Ability to tackle the Fullback running a counter trap through the three hole"

A game should also allow you to search for a player by rating--not just by overall ability.

I like it, but's it pretty widespread. I always like to use combos of things. Like combine stats, which would tell you about a players 40-yard time (speed), 10-yard dash (acceleration) and shuttle run(agility). This would give you a good idea of his scrambling skills.

Now speaking of combine stats. Can any break down the differenet tests, what they are and what they test.

Height
Weight
20SH = 20 Yard Shuttle
WT = Weight Bench = Bench Press
40 = 40 Time
VJ = Vertical
60SH= 60 Yard Shuttle
BJ = Broad Jump
Cone = Cone
