Another game forum I visited has been hacked (Childish Things - the home of International Cricket Captain - hacked by Mr Skizo of Morrocco apparently)...

I've got the 'ask for confirmation before dling Active X content' checked, and nothing came up, but when I clicked back out of there a message 'The game is over' came up as a little pop up window, which I closed out of the task bar.

Norton is up to date and didn't pick up anything, and nothing appears to be different.

I've never seen/visited a hacked website before - is this likely to have given my PC a virus, and any recommendations on actions to take?

Probably not. The popup was most likely just embedded in the website. Are you using Internet Explorer, and what version?

Ok, might not be too bad - a couple of people on another cricket forum have been engaging the chap on messenger (apparently he left a hotmail address on the screen) and all he says he has done is edit the index to promote Islam... Of course he could be talking BS but no-one else in the thread discussing it seems concerned, I've quick-scanned my PC and nothing came up, so I'll reassure myself with their general ambivalence.

Yes - IE7.0.5730.11

I think I might have panicked a little with the initial post! Never seen anything like that before and was concerned.

The other forum thread - you can probably work out which post was mine!
