I thought that people would find this interesting... NFL Films has a video on their site entitled "Newport News QB's" and features high school footage of Aaron Brooks, Allen Iverson, Michael Vick, Ronald Curry, and Marcus Vick. It's a very nice segment...

- Go to http://www.nflfilms.com
- Once you're past the intro, select your media player/connection and click 'Search' on the top menu.
- Search for 'Vick and Brooks' and the video will show up on the right of the screen.

After viewing this piece, I started to wonder if the best of the lot wasn't NFL QB's Brooks and Vick...but actually Iverson.

A shame that Vick took his money and moved his mom out of the city that helped support them while he was growing up.

Hell no it isn't a bad town.

It is a shame because the Vicks took more from the community than they gave, and giving back in the (modest) form of real estate tax income would have been nice.

It isn't THAT bad, but your not exactly selling out if you move after you sign your 50 million dollar nfl contract.

Interesting. What did the community give the Vicks? I don't know much about this, so I'll be interested to hear.

PS - According to the Census (http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/51/51700.html) the median income in Newport News is $36,597 ($10,000 below the state median income). 84.5% of people have HS degrees (3% ABOVE state average)...sounds decent...but 36,000/year is well... :/

Curry went to UNC where he was a so-so QB and basketball player.

He played off and on for the Radiers last year.
