Maybe I just got a bad model, but I'm exchanging my monitor for the 2nd time in a year and a half.

After about 6 months with the first one, it stopped turning on. So they exchanged it. Of course, they sent me a completely wrong version on that exchange that was worth about $150 less... so that exchange took an extra week.

Now, a year later the one they sent me (which looked like a previous refurb when I got it) stopped turning on. Now I have to wait 7-14 days until I get a new one, which means my wife's computer is useless for the next week.

So FYI, if you see a Samsung 940MW anywhere, avoid it like the plague.

My 940B has been perfect for two years.

Count me in as one of the Samsung fans. I'm currently running a dual monitor setup, with a 172a (bought in Italy in 2003) and 213T (bought here in 2004). I've got my eye on the 245BW to add to the collection.

I love my SyncMaster 941bw

I have a SyncMaster 930b and it has been absolutely great.

Also got a 40" Samsung LCD TV and it has been great as well.

Isn't this in the fine print of every extended electroincs warranty? The salesman will tell you that they will replace it with a new unit if anything goes wrong, but the truth is they will most likely send you a refurbished replacement.
