Well, you guys didn't specify not to be spoiled for this specific game. ;)

(Kidding. Poor form to have the result in the thread like this).

Thats why ive learned not to use the internet and forums if i have something i dont want spoiled, because ive found without fail it always will be if i do.

I think it would be fine for a mod to change the title of this thread.

Perhaps the lowest scoring game in NBA history that didn't involve the Miami Heat.

Pumpy, i imagine there is a layer of hell that involves watching the heat play the knicks endlessly..

Wow, shocking score. My Gunners must have bigger fish on their minds. So does this game prove as a fluke, or shows that Tottenham has vastly underachieved in the league with the talent they have? I've been shocked Tottenham hasn't been in the running the past couple of years.

I've been shocked Tottenham hasn't been in the running the past couple of years.i don't think it's a fluke as much as spuds finally playing to their ability in combination with us not looking nearly as good as we did earlier in the season. picking up juande ramos was absolutely brilliant (even if i did think jol got shafted).

make no mistake, spuds have tons of talent (in my opinion). i would LOVE to have huddlestone partner cesc for the next decade and be done with. berbatov is a classy striker. and on and on. there's no reason why they should not be consistently be fighting for champion's league spot.

lasagna not withstanding.

it had to be said.

if they buy in to ramos' gameplan (or if they get rid of the people who don't and bring in people who do), they're going to be ridiculously dangerous. in fact, i can see them hurting a lot of feelings in the second part of the season and being that team you don't want to play.

oh. and, unlike last season, it is not because we were playing kids. there were multiple first teamers in the lineup today.

No mention of Adebayor walking ten yards to put the nut on Bendtner? Bendtner is known for being a little indisciplined off the field, but even so whatever he did/said certainly wound his teammate up.

After 2-0, the game was either going to be a classic or a blowout depending on who scored next. An Arsenal goal would have shaken Spurs confidence and set up an absolutely wonderful finish. Walcott was completely useless up front and Spurs got the 3rd goal. Nothing after that made one bit of difference.

It will be interesting to see how Spurs do this weekend. A loss will set them right back to where they were, low on confidence and players who can actually defend.

All the same, this isn't a forum I would have thought to be a risk of soccer spoilage, since it's usually contained within the catch-all thread.

I apologize again for those of you that I ruined a great match for on your DVRs... Sorry...

I wish I could have watched it myself DVR or no DVR. Unfortunately I was stuck checking the live match text commentary on bbc.com...

interesting. for all his inconsistency and tendency to yap a lot in the press, adebayor seems (to me) to be very team-team (i know, that's not a word but y'all got the point). for example, post-game, he tends to be one of the first to call everybody together to huddle up and cheer and all that. this? way out of character.

i could see the possibility of the team getting irritated with bendtner. his (lack of) discipline off the pitch is known but, with more game time this year, you can see that it carries onto the pitch as well.

that horrible red card (honestly, he deserved a longer ban) was a simple example. some of the bendtner-backer keeps bringing up van persie and his red card in his first year -- for the heathens who do not follow arsenal, in his first year, van persie was struggling to get onto the pitch and, in one of the rare instance he was, got an early stupid yellow before getting frustrated in the second half and made a needless challenge to get the second, leaving the team a man short (consequently, we lost -- HappyPlace[tm] was not achieved). he was introduced to the pine for a goodly amount of time before returning a much more intelligent player (generally speaking). i see a significant difference. van persie's was a frustrated needless challenge where bendtner's was a petulant (he was being replaced, adebayor was already standing on the sideline) childish attempt that could have seriously injured someone. big difference to me.

he's very, very talented. in spite of his physique (specifically, height), he is very talented technically and does the majority of his best work on the ground, even though, atypical of our players, he can and does score in the air. i just hope he grows up before becoming another pennant or bentley who just doesn't seem to really live up to their natural ability (although bentley has begun to develop).

Walcott was completely useless up frontyou can, ummmm, say that pretty much any game and be correct. i disagree with mr wenger on this. he feels that walcott is on his way to becoming a good central attacker. i just don't see it. when he's wide right -- therefore with space -- i've seen him make some brilliant runs, both with and without the ball. but put some traffic or, heck, a defender who's willing to not move (not foul him, mind, just stand his ground) and walcott is nullified. he also needs to improve both his decision making and the ability to complete the play in the final third.

but, man, watching him make some of those runs are AMAZING.

until the final ball is (not) made.

Today's reports say that the trouble sparked off when Adebayor told Bendtnar "I'm only on because you are so shit."

Harsh but fair.

I don't think it's a fluke.

I saw something a week or so ago that showed the table SINCE Ramos joined Spurs, and they were like 6th or so, not too bad (still not as good as we should be). And as Ramos gets more time with the team we'll get much better, I think. We could certainly spoil a few plans for teams in the upper half of the table this year during the second half of the season.

I think our team has had the talent to compete to be just outside the top 4 for the last several years and maybe sqeak in. With Ramos and some key additions with time I think we can make the move into the top 4 and get into the Champions League. It may take a couple of years though.

I also think that consistently competing with the top 4 will require us to increase our ability to pay players top flight wages which will only happen when we have a larger (but financially stable) ground so that our match day income goes up quite a bit.

Woodgate into central defence would be a good start. Seems like he's chosen Spurs ahead of a return to Newcastle.

Just reading this thread title makes me want to get back into playing WWSM. Too bad my computer seriously struggles to run the game even with a tiny league. :-(
