Trying to figure out why the Steelers are on in that small part of South Carolina. From a quick search, it appears as if that might be the local affiliate of Florence, South Carolina. Hometown of the #1 pick Lawrence Timmons. Not quite sure what he's done to garner getting local coverage in his hometown. He's barely played. It might just be Willie Parker but I think his hometown is either in the Denver Game market, or blacked out at 4.

WTF? Why does the rest of Florida get the OAK-MIA game except the small patch in the Panhandle area, where I currently reside?

I believe I can answer that, or at least hazard a guess. Here in Myrtle Beach, there is a huge number of retired Steelers fans. I've been in a local sports pub on Sunday during the NFL season and the game on the main screen is the Pittsburgh game not Carolina or Atlanta like you might expect. Even did an article about it in the local paper next year. The Steelers first game was also shown in this area this season. Simmons being from Florence probably was the main reason though.

anyone else getting a red x for the second map? And I think the areas in grey in the CBS early game got the best game of the bunch there...

Heh interestingly enough today's paper has a listing of bars and restaurants where NFL fans hang out in the area. Pittsburgh has the most, and didn't even include the pub I go to. Philadelphia was next, then the Giants tied with Carolina. Other teams mentioned: Baltimore, Cleveland, Green Bay, New England, and Washington. Interestingly enough no Atlanta places.

Glad you didn't have to wait until next year.

No HD for the Falcons game? WTF?
Can I sue CBS for part of what my new TV cost?

I do not understand why there is such a HUGE Pittsburgh fanbase in Hampton Roads. But you'll notice all around us gets the Colts game (what *I* want to watch) but our little corner of VA, of course, gets the Steelers... argh..

Well I can't see the second map, so I can't notice what you are noticing. :) We are very fortunate here in Myrtle Beach in that we have multiple CBS and Fox affiliates. They very often pick up different games. Like this week we get Pittsburgh/Arizona on one, and Denver/Indy on the other. Good for me this week because I'm a Cardinal fan. :) Plus we'll also have the Carolina game going on CBS.

Over a month into the season, and I have still yet to see a Dolphins or Hoosiers game on TV. God I wish I had DirecTV instead of Comcast...

I just want to point out that the Steelers are one of the most popular NFL teams worldwide. There are Steelers bars in foreign countries where people barely understand American football. It's absolutely nuts. I don't know why the Steelers are so popular, but they are. If you're in an area without an NFL team, chances are that there's a big group of Steelers fans. That's just how it is.
It's hard living here as a Broncos fan. :)
