We've tried to get an FM league going in the past, with not much success. So I figure if we get this thing started early, we'll actually be ready in time for the release of FM 2008. I've been talking with SirFozzie about getting things started. If I recall, our main problem was that we couldn't decide what league to play in. So I'll put up a poll, to figure out what people want to do (I'll probably eliminate half the choices if we don't have a majority, or maybe we can do a combination of two choices), and to figure out how many people want to do it -- I don't know how many people we can handle, but I figure even if it's slow, we can probably let in anyone who wants to play.

Also, I can't really find any of the old threads where we've discussed this, so if anyone can find it, or remembers any issues we dealt with, bring them up again now!

Part of the issue last time was that it was difficult to find a time agreeable to everyone involved. Also, the pre-season took a number of hours to get through. Pre-season friendly matches were scheduled all over the place, which also slows down how quickly things can move along.

That makes sense -- I can see that definitely being a problem for me. I guess that will probably require another poll in the future.

Part of the reason the preseason was so bad was that we had an insane number of people - I think all 24 teams in League One - and so somebody had a game nearly every day. Doing a less crowded game, or multiple games, should speed things up.
