Look out Below!

(this is a shot from Japanese Wrestling federation Big Japan Pro Wrestling, who's noted for this kinda stuff on a regular basis. Also, please note.. that's NOT a precut table they're about to land on)

No piranahs, no light tubes, no barbed wire, no dynamite?
Looks like a pretty tame match by Japanese hardcore standards.

Look on the mat and all over the falling bodies, Jon. I think PLENTY of light bulbs were used already ;)

How do you know that the table isn't pre-cut?

Also, that type of wrestling is crap.

There's a couple spots in there that go each way..

I almost hope they all die, just to remove them from the gene pool.

A fucking idiotic abomination and an embarrassment to real wrestlers now and in the past.

Some people will do anything for fame.

I remember watching a gif of a tiger bomb that a really big name in japan (dont remember his name anymore) used to do and remember thinking it was the sweetest move ever

wiki tells me it was probably mitsuharu misawa & the tiger driver 91

Yeah, but there's none on the table ;)

That is the most awesome YouTube clip in history.

After watching that clip, I'm really upset I didn't get to see any of this while in Japan.

Jon,

is that like the WWE over there or more like some crazy indy scene thing, like a side show?

JonInMiddleGA

Flasch - pretty much a second (or third) tier side show. One of the reasons that "garbage wrestling" got its name. Closest US equivalent might be CZW, only with a higher profile due to longevity & an angle they ran with NJPW back in the late 90s.

I think this match description from Wiki kind of sums them up:
Big Japan W*ING Crisis Big Born Deathmatch- Barbed-wire-board, thumbtacks, bed-of-nails, circus-style-scaffold into a barbed-wire-trampoline, tub of scorpions, cactus plants, light bulbs, Fire Stones, Dry Ice, barbed-wire-bat, drills, swords, knives, buzz saws Street Fight Tornado Death Match.

Mix up all of those options & you've got most of their matches.

Mix up all of those options & what you've got is GREAT ENTERTAINMENT.

Although if you put them all in one match (as they apparently did), you've got a slight chance of being accused of overbooking ;)

Tomoaki Honma and Ryuji Yamakawa had a couple great matches in BJPW in 99-2000 if I remember correctly that somehow blended the weapons based style that you see in these clips with the main style of Japanese Wrestling (puroresu, which is a lot more.. well I was going to say realistic, but not sure if that's word I should be using, definitedly harder hitting).. and the two matches were awesome

how many people die doing this?

how many people die doing this?

During the match type stuff? None. I'm sure that this kinda shit will shorten people's lives, but..

Drake

But it looks cool, so a shortened life is worth it...for the spectators, anyway. I'm more than happy if people want to die for my amusement.

This may be a really stupid question, but why are the two guys holding the table?

SirFozzie
03-20-2007, 12:20 PM
to make sure that they don't hit an edge with their head and kill themselves I guess.

Drake

For MAXIMUM CARNAGE, of course.

I think that's exactly what it was.

The world needs ditch-diggers, too.

That picture doesn't impress me. Aren't Japanese people like three feet tall? That's a mere step stool they are jumping off of onto a TV tray.

So ROH may be void of top TNA talent but PWG is presenting All Star Weekend in April headlined on night two by Low Ki vs Samoa Joe. They've wrestled once on the first ROH Show and now it's probably a top candidate for MOTY this time around.

And as much as I hate Garbage Wrestling, watch any Cage of Death by CZW.

There's a small clip of Misawa doing the TD '91 on Toshiaki Kawada. I think I have this match on tape.

A small pic of the ever retarded CZW Weedwhacker spot.
