My main question - Should I fire my coach?

Here is his information:

43 years old
A passable coach who prefers a strong defensive game
A nasty fellow who is calm and upright.
Has formidable experience and poor leadership abilities.

- - -

My background... I just started playing about 5 weeks ago. My club is in the middle of the standings in my Div V league - I am no threat to advance this season. We are making progress, but we do not have lots of cash to spare (I have it tied up in players, and am running a modest debt at the moment).

I understand that when you fire your coach, you get a replacement guy automatically, and that the process cots you something (a couple thousand?). But I don't know what to expect.

My guy is passable - I would, of course, prefer "solid."

What can I expect from this, shoudl I choose to do it? Do you end up cycling through coach replacements until you get the guy you want - maybe 10 or 20 guys in a few minutes? That could get to expensive for me - I just don't have the cash right now.

Is there a morale issue? I don't care that much about this season, though it would be nice to keep building supporters, etc.

Any thoughts would be most welcome.

It's hard to get a solid coach, you also want them to have a decent leadership rating...it's the luck of the draw...

I would recommend keeping your current coach for now. Every time you go for a new coach, it costs $10,000 and its really a crap-shoot as to what you will get.

I have heard of some guys spending as much as $500,000 to get a solid coach. Others (who shall remain nameless) have gotten a solid coach on their first attempt.

Passable is the second best type of coach, so you're probably better off sticking with what you have for now. Heck, I'm nearing the end of my second full season, and I still have a passable coach.

Hey, I resent these implications! And to set the record straight, it took me two tries to get a solid!

Another vote for the 'Keep' side. The two most relevant ratings seems to be coaching and leadership. The poor leadership hurts a wee bit during game but you're in your building stage right now and the ability to train young players are more important at the moment.
