I read through the thread about least favorite division and saw his name come up. I don't know much about him but every time i see him he always seems to make the plays. When he was with the Giants, Bucs and Seahawks every game I saw him play in he always came up with a big play, never dropped any passes. I know he's no superstar but to me he seems like a very solid reciever to have on any roster.

I've always liked the guy, and I don't understand why teams don't commit longer contracts to him. It's like he fits in perfectly as a go-to possession WR wherever he plays, yet is an NFL nomad. I wish the Seahawks could've kept him.

I was very happy to see the Browns sign him; and he seems excited about finally playing in Cleveland (born and played high school ball there).

He's a nice veteran receiver who can fill in nicely in most systems. I think of him as a Jack of all Trades type of receiver. He's not going to dominate, but he's reliable.

Any thread that helps to move the werewolf threads off the front page is ok with me... :D

He's a bigger Ricky Proehl. Zero measureables but heady players.

They tried - their offer was for more money than Cleveland's, but he really wanted to play in his hometown.

Joe did a great job for me in fantasy football after one of my guys wents down.

Okay, we're getting there. Can anyone else wheel out the remaining predictable euphemisms?

It's true. Nice possession receivers often fit that description and seldom get long term big deals. Not sure if you are bringing his whiteness into it but not really where I was going with it.

He's a white guy?

I think they should switch him to QB, and see how he does there.

I would have said he's a bigger troy brown but joe doesn't return punts.

I didn't mean it as an insult, just an observation. Every conversation about Joe Jurevicius, Ricky Proehl, or Ed McCaffrey (in recent years) has centered on the same traits -- heady player, solid route runner, possession guy, good nose for the ball, plays hard, not the best tools but productive... and so forth.

A whiter, taller Tom Waddle? A darker, shorter Ed McCaffrey?

is that off base though?

I mean the same is said of Hines Ward and Troy Brown. Nobody says it about Kevin Curtis or Brandon Stokley.

Fair enough.

FWIW, I'm by no means taking insult. Just debating the point that's all.

Didn't Neil O'Donnell say something like that about Kevin Curtis during a Rams game last year?

That sounds like typical Neil O'Donnell logic.

It was a good one. Unexpected for a poster with such measurables as yourself.

When Joe played on the Giants, all he ever did was drop passes. It wasn't until his final year there that he finally figured out how to hold onto the ball, and then he got his ass out of there.
