I am assuming that you mean as a coach. No, there will never be another one like him. Could you imagine a college basketball coach winning even 3 championships in a row in today's world and NOT making the jumping to the NBA to "prove" himself. Forget 7 in a row. Plus somehow the NCAA would change the rules to prevent such a dynasty.

The only thing close to that that I can think of is with Higgins in Cincinatti and Kenyon Martin being so upset about his firing that he asked that the school take his number down. (not saying that Higgins is even a TENTH of what John Wooden is.. but)

I think there are a few like him now. Say what you want about Bob Knight but the vast majority of his players absolutely love him. I think you end up with the same situation though. In order to have that sort of effect, a coach would have to be committed to the college game and the college kids.

Adolf Rupp had a chance to be just as great if it werent for his one flaw. Such a shame the man was such a racist

He probably wouldnt have had the same success at Minnesota. A hell of a lot more talent comes from Los Angeles then Minnesota. ;)

Something that goes to show how great UCLA's athletic program is, is that John Wooden isn't even the best coach in UCLA's history. Al Scates is.

Denny Crum came from Wooden's coaching line. The only majorly successful one at least
