I have a cd, and about two songs on it has started skipping. Any suggestions on how yo stop them?

Buy a new one.

Check to see if it's dust or a scratch. Wipe off the dust.

There are machines that fix scratches, but if used wrong can scratch up a CD even worse.

Or follow Noo's advice and just buy a new one.

I've been able to do that with some. I have also repaired DVDs and CDs with those "CD/DVD Doctor" things that are marketed in all the 'home electronics/entertainment' stores...

Toothpaste. This is a serious response, BTW.

It basically just tries to even out the scratch so the CD is playable.

This should basically be a last resort after you've tried wiping it, washing it off, etc...

I have used the repair kit that comes with the two-step process to repair the ultra-sensitive disks EA uses for NCAA Football with temporary success. I don't think I'm tough on disks, and I haven't had any other damaged disks in my car in 17 years of handling the medium. I think for some reason either the game doesn't like small scratches or my Xbox doesn't, one or the other.

Anyway, I believe it's made by Maxell. It comes with a paste that you drop on the scratches, then buff it out and you use a spray to clean it. I would image that the above toothpaste followed by lens cleaner would probably be an effective home remedy.

ive heard that lens cleaners actually do way more harm than good, and really shouldnt be used at all.
