Drive for Emerson, formerly known as Emerson Electric but they dropped half of the name for some reason. Big company, makes lots of shit. Most of the stuff I carry would be electric motors that go in Whirlpool, Frigidaire, and other appliances. Then the Copeland compressors go into air conditioners and stuff like that. Also Rigid/Bosch power tools.

I understand we make fans, too. They even put them on our trailers. Never seen one though, in one of my trailers or in a store.

I am a Lead Business Systems Analyst for an investor education company. Running joke around the office is that I am the CDO (Chief Documentation Office). Bascially, I get to meet with the end user document their request, go back to my desk, flow chart and spec out the proposed project, take it to the lead developer, sit with him, figure out technically, what they can and can not do, come up with a time line/time frame, go back to my desk, technical spec it and flow chart, combine both reports, perform a Cost Benefit analysis on the requested project as well as determining if it works within the business rules and functions of the company.

I also own my own web development/advertising/marketing agency. I do a lot of stuff for small businesses, however I did have a couple of large clients (One credit union, another one was tied with a relegious company, that focused on providing their ministry with stores, shops, chat programs so they could ensure they dealt with good wholesome people like themselves)

And last but not least, I sell AFLAC, have done so for over 2 years, it is a nice part time gig that is slowly building a nice monthly residual check for me.

I'm in the Navy. By trade, I'm an electronics technician. In the past, I've worked on Shipboard Nontactical ADP Program (SNAP), AIMS MKXII IFF, UPX-29 IFF, as well as a specific switchboard, SB-4229, and Shore Communications equipment.

Right now, I'm billeted to Great Lakes, IL. I'm here for instructor duty. Up until the new year, I was teaching about 500 students (in blocks of 250 at a time) Navy Military Training (NMT). It was a lot of fun, the students enjoyed it as much as I did. I didn't go by the book very often.

I was also in charge of civilian contracts for the building I worked in. Basically I signed off on any kind of corrective or preventative maintenance, as well as answered any questions. I reported to the main building about audits and spot inspections I conducted.

Since the new year, our commanding officer has made a lot of changes to our base, and I've been reassigned. They took away my contract supervising and my teaching time, but have me in the same building. About the only thing I'm in charge of right now is to make sure students get to the schoolhouse for training. If they don't, I notify the student's barracks. A few other minor things sprinkled in there, but not much. Yesterday I didn't even change into uniform while I was there.

I recently (December) picked up a second job. I work at GNC here on the base as well.

You gotta love the navy. Acronyms inside of acronyms! :p

I pick on the Navy all the time (because I've worked with you folks for nearly 6 of my 14 years in service). One of the most notable projects I had in the Air Force was working with the Turkish Army to get Naval Task Forces in the Med vital information about suspect shipping in time for them to decide if they need to interdict or not. That's everybody working together and it was very rewarding. Especially getting one of your Navy Chief's to try and drink the Turks under the table on Turkish Raki. That was ugly. :)

For the past year and a half I worked part-time during school/full-time during breaks at New Jersey One Call as an operator. Your state has something similar. Anytime you (contractors, utility companies, homeowners) are planning on digging, you are supposed to call and register with your state so the proper utility companies can come to your dig site and literally "mark-out" all the utility lines in the area, so your dumbass doesn't blow anything up.

I work as a Structual Engineer at Curtiss-Wright Electro-Mechanical Coporation which is about 20 miles north of the city of Pittsburgh. We work on a lot of projects for the Navy but are not Navy employees. We are government contrators mainly. I help design and analyze main coolant pumps for reactor plants that the Navy employs on Submarines and Aircraft Carriers. Right now we are designing a way to launch Airplanes from a Aircraft Carrier by using magnents. We are also working on reequipping a lot of nuclear power plants with new Control Rod Drive Mechanisms (CRDMs) which regulate the amount of power a nuclear plant outputs. It is pretty interesting work. Working for the Navy is fun, but it can be a headache.

My usual job is to look at a particular piece of the pump (or other equipment) and analyze whether or not it will break or deform during normal operations, shock (ie a bomb exploding around it), or a plant transient (ie loss of cooling water). If it does fail I have to work with the Design Engineer to come up with a better design. Our company writes most of its own codes that we use to do the analysis.

There don't seem to be any professor jobs open at any universities in Louisiana, so she's applied to 22 schools which are all elsewhere. I'll be going wherever she's going. She's gotten her very first nibble (a promise for a phone interview) from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, but it's still early in the process, so she'll probably be approached by several other universities over the next couple of months. I have a B.A. in History, so naturally I'm a programmer. ;- )

After giving up my gig as stay at home dad, I've gone back into the mainstream workforce as a COBOL (yes, its still used out there) programmer for a company that writes software for auto dealerships. Ye haw, it pays the bills.

Not that I know of, at least not for a few more months. We're doing a complete rebranding of the products, and everything is kinda scattered at the moment. I'll let you know if anything comes open. One key, gotta be willing to travel!

That my friend is something I am more than willing to do.

Platinum Memeber with Delta for the 3 years I travelled seeing over 350K in 2 years and never leaving North America. I racked up Gold Points with Marriot and Starwood.

I liked getting free upgrades to suites and 1st class, it turns into the perks of travel.

And if I go somewhere fun, I pay for the family to join me.

Anyways, I am sincere, and would love to get a job like that again.

For the last 6 months I've been a Project Architect for a very small firm in downtown Chicago. Most of our work is with in-line, freestanding and corporate banks. Gotta love those vault plans!! The previous few years I detailed healthcare clinics in Milwaukee.

Those are awesome perks. How often do you attend each team a year? Also, aren't you a high-class hoe? :D

Forgot about the whoring, probably because that's a weekend gig. Thanks for reminding me. I'll make sure I get that on my business cards as soon as possible. :D

As far as the games, the company only has two seats for the Suns and whenever the CEO, CFO or some other higher up wants the tickets I have to give up my game. I've been to two Suns games this season, and have tickets for next Friday. I think I'm also down for three more games in February and March.

The company has ten seats for the Dbacks, so on average we go to about five games a month during the season. They also have Spring Training tickets for the Giants and I think the Cubbies (don't quote me on that), but I've never been to a Spring Training game because I'm really usually booked up that time of year.

I help evil corporations get bigger by buying smaller other evil corporations. I also sometimes help VERY large evil corporations when they're accused of hurting smaller corporations or consumers. Though sometimes, if the corporation I am working for, feels another larger evil corporation is doing something untoward then I help defend the little guy. Basically I'm an antitrust lawyer doing both EU and US antitrust law.

Graduating in May with a B.S. in Management from Rutgers. Currently looking for work in financial services, consulting, all that other crap. If anyone is looking for an underling in the NYC area, give me a buzz.

Bump, as I just got my first real job and can now join the party.

Starting at the end of June, I will become an Assistant National Bank Examiner for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, a branch of the Treasury Dept. Basically, as part of a team, I will be going around to different banks making sure they comply with regulations and spotting potential problems as well as how to fix them. I have a friend whose father and brother are with the organization and they love it.

Salary is very good to start with lots of room for advancement. Its a federal job so the benefits are great. Best part is that in a two-week period, I'll be working 8 9-hour days and 1 8-hour day, so I'll be off every other Friday. Very excited...

Computer animator in the video game industry. After spending a few years after graduating from college still at my college-job (mixing paint and stain at a local specialty store) I went back to school for computer animation. Got hired at graduation as a contract employee working in the Microsoft Sports Games Studio on the PC NFL Fever game. Eventually was hired as a Microsoft employee just before the stock plummeted (December of '99), stayed with them until the studio was shut down at the end of last October. Worked on all 4 versions of NFL Fever, as well as 3 baseball titles. Most of my work was dealing with motion-capture data; got to be involved in the mocap shoot we did with Peyton Manning (he's a great guy, very professional and quite humble).

Starting a new temporary gig with Midway in Chicago for 2-3 months on Monday; after that it looks promising for me to get a full-time job with their Seattle branch Surreal Software.
