2005 Golden Scribe Awards
The Golden Scribes are alive and well! For those of you who are new to FOF, the Golden Scribes are given annually to honor the great dynasty writers of this excellent community of sports fans.
This year, the Golden Scribes will be undergoing a major renovation to make the process faster, more manageable, yet fair to all nominees. The Golden Scribes will now more closely resemble the Academy Awards, rather than the People’s Choice. The sheer numbers and tabulations required under the old system are just too cumbersome to do it that way. Therefore, I now present to you the all-new, streamlined Golden Scribe Award process:
THE NEW GOLDEN SCRIBE PROCESS
The new process for the Golden Scribes will be as follows:
1. All FOFC members are invited to submit nominations for the best dynasties in four (4) categories:

Front Office Football
The College Years
Other Sport
Non-Sport.

Nominations for other categories will be ignored.
2. All nominations should be e-mailed to Grid Iron (rhbaker AT gmail.com) no later than January 31, 2005.
3. The title of the e-mail should be “Golden Scribe Nominations”
4. Include your FOFC handle in your e-mail. E-mails not containing this information will be ignored.
5. After the nominations are in, a Blue Ribbon Panel comprised of five (5) former Golden Scribe winners will vote on the 2005 Golden Scribe Awards, as well as select a Dynasty of the Year and Rookie of the Year.
6. Winners will be announced as soon as possible in February.
THE BLUE RIBBON PANEL
To ensure fairness, the following rules will apply to the Blue Ribbon Panel:
1. To prevent lobbying, the identities of the panel members will remain secret. Any panel member that discloses that he or she is a panel member will be replaced with another former Golden Scribe winner.
2. Panel members may not be involved in a vote in which their own dynasty is a nominee. In such a case, alternate panel members will be selected.
I know many of you may not agree with the process or be upset that the number of categories has diminished significantly. However, the current process is a necessity to keep the Golden Scribes alive. If anyone is willing to volunteer to run the Golden Scribes under the previous system, please let me know and I will pass on this responsibility to you. :D
Good luck to all the competitors!
THREE IMPORTANT NOTES
1. Blue Ribbon Panel members may nominate dynasties.
2. You don't need to vote for every category; if you only read one dynasty and love it, then vote for it!
3. If you are an unregistered guest lurker, register for FOFC and vote for your favorite dynasty!
