I'm looking at purchasing an MP3 player, but can't seem to determine which one is best for me. If anybody has purchased an MP3 player recently, maybe they can help

I'm looking for one with a pretty big HD in it, atleast 5 GB in size, and 10 GB should do. It shouldn't be too large or too heavy, but I also don't want it so small that it'd be very easy to lose. A good interface that allows me to scroll quickly through songs is also something i'd like.

Any help is very appreciated.

I have an iPod and I couldn't live without mine! I use iTunes (just downloaded the update, ver. 4.6) and it's really easy to use, you can scroll through your collection, create playlists, etc. I have the car charged and the iTrip (well, that is actually Radii's, but I stole it from him after I gave it to him for Christmas) so I can listen to it on any radio. I have a 5 GB, radii has a 10GB...

can you transfer regular MP3s onto the Ipod HD? If so, they just opened an Apple store in Austin this week, may have to check it out.

It kills me to be so trendy, but the iPod is really the way to go.

I would recommend the Ipod too.

Everything that I have read says that the Ipod battery only lasts about 18 months.

I have a newer (slim) ipod and I love it. I have not had any battery issues as of yet (owned it for about a year).

There are threads about other mp3 players around here. You can search for them. Forgive me for not knowing who bought a creative labs player and loved it. We were discussing it about 2 months ago.

I would look for a machine that has a replacable battery. The one that somebody bought did indeed have that feature.

For the record, I do not use itunes with my ipod. I use musicmatch and have had no issues with the machine. The thing that sucks is that I had to buy a firewire card for my notebook. It works with an ilink connection but it doesn't charge the ipod. you need a 6 pin firewire connection for that.
