Michelle Wie is battling to make the cut. She's +1 right now and the cut is projected to be Even or -1.

This is amazing to me.

To those of you who may be living under a rock, Wie is playing with the men this week. Oh yeah, and she's FOURTEEN!

She probably won't make the cut, but she has shown that if she continues to improve she may well have the skills to really compete at the PGA level.

Yeah, this has been kind of sick. Watched a couple of holes this evening and she has played some solid golf.

It doesn't look like she'll make the cut, but she has shown a lot the past couple of days. She plays with a ton of confidence and has conducted herself like she's been around forever.

She's matured physically a great deal from last year. She's taller, she's thinner and she looks stronger. Obviously ESPN is impressed, because they've let coverage of her round go over schedule for an hour in prime time.

She's got to finish birdie-birdie to make the cut, but she's already proven she can cut the mustard. I'm sure people who want to bash will say it's because she's familiar with the course, but rest assured she's not familiar playing the course with a pro setup, a gallery and a national TV audience.

Glad to see her also using a professional caddy. Her dad didn't know what he was doing and was costing her both strokes and respect. I'm cheering for her to make the cut.

A 14 year old girl hanging tough with grizzled PGA veterans is simply unreal.

If she keeps her head on straight, she could be huge. I know that her goals include winning regularly on the PGA tour and winning PGA majors.

yes, but how long until she marries her childhood friend in vegas, or kisses madonna?

This says more about golf than anything else. I don't mean that as a put-down of Wie, who is an extraodinary golfer.

What it does is show the importance of the short game, especially putting. She putted incredibly well.

And FYI -

She birdied 2 of the last 3 holes on Friday to finish the tournament at Even par. She missed the cut by one stroke.

They're interviewing her now and she has her s--t together more than most of the players on tour who are twice her age.
