ESPN.com says that Chaney is out and Fratello in as Knicks coach. Am I the only one that actually thinks that Chaney is a good coach? If left alone I think he could get the Knicks back on track, but the scrutiny he is under is unbelievable. He now has some guys who can play instead of having 12 power forwards. If Frat's the answer, why hasn't he coached in 5 years? What's Chuck Daley doing?
I ran into Isiah about 10 years ago right before Chaney took over as coach of the Pistons. I asked him about Ron Rothstein (remember him?) Zeke laughed and said he liked him. I told him that I thought Chaney was a much better coach and Zeke flashed that grin and said "We'll see..." If he dumps Don, it's not because Don can't coach, but to start fresh. The Knicks have the worst fans and the worst media in the NBA.
(At least they no longer have the worst point guards and the worst front office!)

Having someone titled the Czar of the Telestrator can only help...
Neither Chaney nor Fratello matter with the talent level there...

What evidence is there of Chaney being a good coach? I just don't think the guy is head coach material. He just LOOKS overmatched out there. I swear, everytime i see the guy, I just feel sorry for him. He did nothing with the Pistons, the Rockets won a title like 2 years after he left and his career winning percentage is like .400. Not that I think Fratello is a good hire, but Chaney doesn't seem to have much control over this team.

Fratello's a joke. He had some decent Hawks teams in the mid to late eighties. What else has he ever done? He didn't do a damn thing with the Cavs, and his style of play is bland and boring...

WFAN says Chaney's out, but Fratello won't be the coach, after some contractual problem.

Lenny Wilkins is the new coach of the Knicks. Herb Willias will coach the team tonight tho. Asst. Coaches Brendan Malone and Lon Kruger were also fired, as reported by WFAN.

I HATE LENNY WILKENS!!!!! Hate. My friend and I used to joke about him all the time, how everyone would bring up his wins record and never mention that he also has like a million losses. Ugh. Why, Why???????

I could be wrong, but weren't the Rockets horrible the prior year and they drafted Olajuwon and they had the twin towers?

Olajuwon was in the NBA in the mid-80's.
