Difficulty : 72/100

been completed. The capacity of the new stadium is 99,900
and it has 399 luxury boxes and 199 VR boxes.
http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~fof/ubb/smile.gif
also, we've signed a new 7-year television contract. more money.
Please welcome the following players for induction
into the Hall of Fame this season:
Jon Clemons
Dana Cox
Kendall Bozarth
Blake Ellis
Please say goodbye to the Cleveland Browns All-Time leading receiver Robbie Jeffries who called it a career after 14 glorious seasons establishing new Brown records with 11930 yards and 79 TD catches.
Robbie is a lock to be inducted in the Browns Hall of Fame in 3 years...
So here is the cap situation :
we are in VERY BAD shape actually (around $55M under) but this not enough since we only have 40 players signed and 6 starters now FA !
It was IMPOSSIBLE to sign these guys last year because -they are star players- and they ask for top salaries that we couldn't afford last year (we were $2M under the cap entering the season opener) and that we will have trouble affording AGAIN this year.
Here is the list of the 6 FA starters :
QB Sammy McNight (franchised player cuz he's a keeper)
CB Jumbo Bell
DT Riddick Tubbs
WR Jimmy Etaton
DT Reggie Ogden
CB Darryl Hutchins
Trade Offers :
The Rams propose RB Machaldo + their 1st Rd pick (32nd) for DE Kurt Wiese.
The Bills propose DE Darrell Kafka + 2nd round pick for FB Brett Jilinek.
both trades are rejected.
Out of the three players we tried to resign regarding our cap situation,
DT Reggie Odgen signed with Atlanta and WR Jimmy Etaton went to Indianapolis, the team that knocked us out last year in the Playoffs.
But we signed DB Darryl Hutchins to a 5 year deal and grabbed WR Lincoln Shapiro (6 year vet, former #4 overall pick and Offensive rookie of the year in 2025)
Shapira had 81 catches for 1062 yards last year, so he should help us fill the gap of Etaton's departure.
With Jeffries retired, WR Jim Henderson now has to step up for good.
WE currently have just 2 wideouts signed, we'll try to get one in the draft if possible
3 trades for Jelinek, Woodons and Theophilakos are rejected.
We then renegociate a bunch of contracts and wait for after the draft to sign QB Sammy McNight to a long term deal. He's currently ranked at 83 by our scour with a future at...100.
The 2030 NFL Draft :
We own two 1st round picks (17th and 33rd) as well as two 2nd, a 3rd and two 4th and a 5th rounder.
there is a GREAT wide receiver in this draft, Stanley Lewinsky 6"0 195 lbs out of Maryland. Obviously he should go high so i'll try to trade up.
The San Francisco 49ers use their #1 overall pick on a RB (for the 2nd year in a row) since last year's #1 RB had a "bust" season.
The 49ers also own the #2 overall pick so we go for the trade :
We send our two 1st rounders + 2 high priced aging starters (S Arnold Storey -13 year vet- and Duane Hanson -16 year vet-) for the 49ers' #2 pick and TE Jordan Kendall (we need a backup to Marvin Welch).
2030 Draft Report:
Rnd 1 - Stanley Lewinsky, WR, Maryland (63/96 100 77/100 94 100 !)
the scouts rate him at 83 (2nd best behind Shapiro's 86 and ahead of Henderson) with a future at 100 !
Rnd 2 - Brian Brigance, T, Florida (powerful Tackle that will provide interesting depth)
Rnd 2 - Warren Robbins, CB, Baylor (could become a very good CB)
Rnd 3 - Rickey Hosken, CB, Baylor (should be a career backup, but a good one)
Rnd 4 - Randal Winslett, WR, Western Carolina
Rnd 4 - Rodney Bruce, RB, Florida
Rnd 5 - Willie Browning, G, Florida State
Lewinsky, I believe, is going to become the next Wallace/Jeffries for Sammy McNight.
the three later picks are not sure at all to make the team. we shall see in time.
After the Draft, QB Sammy McNight agrees to a 5 year, $155M deal including a $10M signing bonus and a base salary of $19M for this season. McNight is locked until 2034. http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~fof/ubb/smile.gif
"We can't get done what we need to get done on this football team without Sammy McNight"
Cleveland Browns" General Manager talking to the media after QB McNight signed his huge contract, making him the highest paid player on the team.
The Browns sold 99,900 season tickets for the season
out of a capacity of 99,900.
Trade Offers
We reject of couple of offers for G Ben Vanderclute and DE Gene Woodson.
We only have 48 players signed so far...we need 5 more but we are ONLY $7,220,000 under the cap and that IS NOT enough to sign that many players. We have to find a way and will probably have to cut loose one or two stars that we have. There is no other choice.
In the FA pool we see that there is available WR Mel Schwartz (4 year vet, former 1st round pick) who was last year the All-League 1st team WR with 95 catches for 1311 yards !
He has been released by the Colts (he killed us in the Divisional playoffs) for salary cap reasons obviously and is now willing to play this year for just over $6M.
We will release newly acquired FA WR Shapiro and his $14M cap and grab Schwartz. That move -not a bad one- will help us gain a valuable $8M without losing too much on the field...
We then sign FA Safety Ronnie Butkus and resign WR Marty Ackerman both for the league's minimum for veteran players.
MEGA TRADE :
we send T Herb Dill (2nd highest paid player on team with over $16M salary) to San Diego against young T Floyd Stargell and young outstanding DE prospect Donnie Bailey.
This move gives us more cap room, one more player, and a good replacement at Tackle.
Herb will be sorely missed but we HAD to trade him.
We now sign FA G March Darden (potential to be a great one, he's young too.) and DT Tony Harper.
We are now set with all 53 players signed and $12M under the cap (2nd best in the NFL).
Conclusion : all this restructuring will result in almost certainly lower rankings in terms of cohesion and a bunch of guys signed only for the season. Which means basically that we will have to continue the process of getting rid of some expensive stars if we want to buil a team next year...Good luck Royal http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~fof/ubb/smile.gif
that was tough for me, and I believe it'll be for you as well though I cleaned the house a little.
The Browns are "worth" $2,411,190,000 (1st NFL)
Stadium (75) 9th
Roster (100) 1st
Support (99) 1s
Economy (53) 12th
Pre-season :
Injury report
Seth Gordon, LB - Sprained Ankle, full strength in 3-5 Weeks
Brenden Swift, DT - Shoulder Tendonitis, full strength in 0-2 Weeks
Antonio Dela Cruz, G - Bruised Sternum, full strength in 3-5 Weeks
Mack Darden, G - Turf Toe, full strength in 0-2 Weeks
Darnell Starks, DT - Sprained Knee, full strength in 0-2 Weeks
We go 1-3 in the pre-season (our first losing preseason in year i believe) having lost our last 3. Fortunately for us, this is JUST preseason and doesn't count.
Now let the real season begin, with our starters getting their jobs back.
Roster Cohesion :
