I finally upgraded my phone and am too cheap to pay for ring tones. Any suggestions where to find free ones?

How about the ones that come with the phone?

Either I'm getting old and out of touch or this is something I really shouldn't care about but...

buying ring tones?? WTF?

(I don't own a cell phone. If someone can't reach me at home then I don't need to talk to them at the present time).

I'm the exact way. Although I want to get one within the next year, since evryone seems to have one... I always thought it was based on the phone whether you had to buy ring tones or not?

Don't have a cell. Don't want a cell.

MY wife and I each have one, only because of the kid. And I have no idea why people would pay for ring tones. I leave mine on vibrate unless I'm at home and the phone is not physicially attached to me, so that I don't bother other people with an annoying phone ring.

Anyone interested in answering the question? Ekoostik Head, what model of phone do you have?

it may just be me but i really hate it when people have songs or weird ring tones for their phones. It's a damn phone not a radio and it should have a ring that sounds like a phone!

and i agree with Mustang about cell phones

I heard a cell phone once that had the SportsCenter jingle.

I love cellphones. Everyone should own one.

The joke just isn't the same unless you are talking about race or gender.

I spent $1 to get a ring tone of 'Rambling Wreck'. It's worth it just to selectively annoy the Bulldog fans at the office. :-D

I'm with Ksyrup. My phone is always on vibrate so that it does not interfere with what I'm doing or those around me. When I'm at home, the ringer goes on.

ring tones are some half assed melodies of popular songs, tv stuff, ect.
i have a motorola v60i, which i think might not be able to download the songs. i may have to get the series of notes to manually input them, i 'm not sure yet.
btw i do use vibrate too, but sometimes i enjoy it too much when in my pocket.

Unfortunately, I don't know the v60i at all. My only experiences are with Nokias and Samsungs. So, unfortunately, like most others in this thread, I can't answer with something useful. Sorry.

I have the Fox NFL theme and The Simpsons. Only cost a buck each and I'm happy with them. I'll have mine. I rarely have mine on vibrate. Either I can take a call and am not worried about being disturbed or I can't. If I can't, the phone gets shut off.

It was weird. I always thought the idea was rather cumbersome and unnecessary. Then I got one. I heart my phone even if I rarely ever use it - other than checking in with my girlfriend, I text bbor to harass him. The fact that I don't have to try to chase down a payphone and deal with the change or tolerate the ickiness of some of them is awesome. Also huge is the fact that I can get a hold of my girlfriend whenever. As a train- and bus-rider, that's a big deal.

It would probably a lot more annoying if Georgia didn't stomp Tech every year.

Cell phones were particurlay handy when the hurricane knocked out the regular phone system for three weeks.

Of course finding a place to recharge batteries was a hassle, as the power was out for about three weeks, too.

I have a Sprint phone and go to 3gupload(dot)com. They have just about anything you can think of. Although you do have to pay a one time donation of $6 or $7, I think its well worth it.
