Me and my friends used to go on spontaneous road trips all of the time. We didn't even pick a destination, we would pick a road. We would drive along that road until it ended. Usually this meant picking a new road and folliwing that until it ended.
One time we ended up in Ocean City, Maryland, another time we ended up in Wildwood, NJ.
There was one time when we ended up driving around Salam County for over 3 hours. We were driving along an ordinary road for Salam County. A country road like every other. And then we came to it...an enormous mansion. My first thought was hotel, but this was clear out in the middle of nowhere. It had to be some kind of house or maybe a hotel that was abandoned. It had a rusted, bent fence going around it with two seperate enterance to it. It was all white and just looked really spooky. We buzzed the thing at the gate and drove off when someone answered. We didn't feel like being dinner that night.
After we passed this house, right after, was the start of route 666. On this road, there are the creepiest looking woods I have ever seen. As we drove along the road, we noticed no lights on in any of the houses, and no cars in any of the driveways. Even more creepy, no car ever passed us, or drove behind us. Basically, we never saw any sign of life on this road. We traveled on it for a few miles until we turned off of it.
Several times I tried searching for the house and route 666 again, but it took me up to earlier this year to do it. They, whoever they are, fixed up the enormous house and replaced the fence. And route 666 was still void of any signs of life. And the woods were still very creepy looking.
I'm planning to go back out there soon with a camera. I'm anticipating either my camera not working, or for the house and the road to not be there anymore. :)
