I'm in the 3rd year of an OPU, so my team still really stinks for at least a few more years, and I finally got the worst record so I get to choose between one of these potentially great players.. Who would you get?

"It all starts with the QB in this league..."

That's what I was thinking.. I figured with a rookie QB at the helm and a learning QB for the next few years, my league will be ready to start and he'll be a stud by then.. Not a stud, but better than most..

I generally would agree with Darkiller, but that QB is only 24% developed where the RB is 80% developed so I'd go with the RB. The high volatility on both players would make me a little nervous though.

Ditto what Bee said...Plus the little read defense and sense rush....

RB it is.. Thanks guys :-p

I liked the volatility though.. All my coaches are good at RB's.. So hopefully they'll help. W/out a mentor though could hurt. We'll see.

with a franchise QB, you can get 15 years of leadership and great football.
You'll be lucky if your RB gives you 8 of those years since their durability is clearly less.
Again, if I have to start from scratch as it appears to be the case with your team, I place the emphasis on the QB.

I agree with your general philosophy of building around the QB, but this specific case I just don't think this QB is worth the 1st pick overall. With that low of a "fully developed %" and high volatility, I think he's too dangerous to draft. I'd probably look for a QB in free agency that's more proven.

Draft the RB and run the ball.

Well, If I were in charge there, I wouldn't be concerned by his "fully developed %" because if I invest into a QB with the #1 overally pick, it's because I want him to be my starter for the next decade (maybe more) so I'm very willing - in that case - to bear with his development for the first few years.

However, if our friend wants to win right away, I understand the picking of the RB first.

I wouldn't be so much concerned about development as the potential the QB is a bust. 24% development indicates pretty low reds. The low read defense and sense rush which has previously been linked to busts in previous versions. The high volatility sort of tops it off for me. I can't say with certainty he'll bust, but I'd stay away from him.

This is exactly why multiplayer is going to be so much fun :)
