Prior to release, many people were disappointed that FOF2004 would only be distributed via download and argued for at least an option to buy the game on CD. Now that nearly all of us have it, are you happy the way it was done and how would you like it done in the next version?

(vote for what you personally prefer, not what you think might be the best way to sell the most games, etc.)

I must admit that i was sceptic to DL only. But now when I worked that fine I have to say I was wrong.

I bought it because it was downloadable, else i would need to wait a lot to get the game CD shiped to Spain.

I have always had good experience with elicense and d'loading of games. I think it's the best way to get a game. No driving or waiting for the mailman, just d'load in a couple of minutes with cable connection and start playing the game.

The fact that I downloaded it and can't install it makes me want to vote for the CD...

I like a CD and paper manual. I think it's kind of cool to look on my computer desk and see Front Office Football, TCY and FOF4 disk cases sitting there.

I like downloading a lot more, as you get the game a lot faster

I vote download. Costs less, easier for developers, can always download again when your comp dies so you don't have to worry about finding the case.

I agree. The only downside would be eLicense, esp. if you forget to unload.

true. they haven't gotten any better? I still remember the whole fiasco with FOF2 where some of us downloaded it early cause we had found the web addy but then it was a dummy download that we got licensed or something. I've never had any probelms with them so I guess I'm lucky.

I think going with ViaTech was a great move and there have not been any problems. It does however gets brought up frequently when folks here forget to uninstall before replace hd, PC, etc. and don't have a license available or they lose the registration number.

That reminds me. Ben, you probably need to provide a link in your post to Jim's ViaTech thread?
