yeah, I read that and I was wondering, is he injured or something.
I'm a Pats fan and I'm happy about the move. Him and Seymour in the middle will be crazy... :)

I guess the Bears have Bryan Robinson and Keith Traylor and Washington's departure clears up cap room. And they couldn't release him for fear of the Packers getting him.

I was hoping the skins would get him, but it is logical for a 3-4 team to want him.

Ridiculous. I do NOT want Duce Staley either. Bears already have 2 good RB's in Peterson and Thomas (one of them will be solid, at the very least).
Washington kicked ASS when he was healthy in 2001. This is just ridiculous. Bryan Robinson is in legal trouble, Keith Traylor is good, but not as good as Washington...and who else they have for a DT?
Sigh. Why can't they get rid of, say, Dez White and/or David Terrell?

Aren't they moving to a 3-4 with Seymour on the outside?

They have Alphonso Boone who a few teams were desperate to get him. Also rookie Ian Scott has had a very impressive training camp so far.

There's been a lot of talk about that being a possibility, yes. Either that or keep the possibility of switching back and forth between 3-4 and 4-3 with Seymour going back to DT and Rosevelt Colvin rushing from the DE position...

dola to add that this addition of Washington makes a lot of sense and could be the signal that the Pats will indeed go to a 3-4 defense. Without that big body in the middle, I wasn't convinced that the 3-4 with Seymour outside was a good option. Nobody else to plug the middle...

Is Klecko going to get a chance to start at the other DE spot if the Pats do go to a 3-4? I'd been hearing good things about him, though he seems too small to be a noseguard in the 3-4.

They like Klecko enough to try him out at 'backer so it's likely he'll start out rotating between DE and LB.
I seem to vaguely recall some mentions about the Bears GM preferring quicker and more mobile tackles so that might be an explanation for this. I suppose Ronnie's reason (Staley) is a possibility as well.

I have doubts about either of these guys performing as a number one in the NFL. I think Staley is a definite improvement over both.

Klecko is going to be playing all over the place this year. DE, DT, LB. The staff (and press for that matter) is really pleased with what he's shown this far.
Ronnie, that's what I've been reading about Klecko. Any news about Ty Warren? How's he doing?
