He IS banned. The problem (and I'm not revealing any big modding secret here) is that because he uses AOL, we can't nail his IP without nailing several other people. If he gets TOO annoying though, we could report him to AOL I guess...

OK. Here we go. This is DEFINITELY my final post for the night. Because of this discussion, I just poked around in the Control Panel out of curiosity. I discovered two fun little things.

1. E-mail confirmation IS turned on, meaning it takes a valid e-mail address to register a new account. Yes, that means that he registered several new e-mail addresses.

2. There is a nice little function, which I've now turned on for the night, that won't allow any new users to post until an admin gives 'em that right.

Oh, so now it's gotten to the level of personal attacks. Shooo troll boy. SkyDog, just what is the double standard? I know what Happy did, but is it okay for Blackadar to be a troll and make personal attacks at others? I would think that the only way to keep things on the level would be to make everyone play by the same rules.

But if making personal attacks on other faceless people is what helps get Blackadar through the day, than I guess that says a lot about him.

It's been a few weeks since I poked around the vb2 control panel, but I'm pretty sure there's also an option to ban registrations from an e-mail address using a certain domain. Just ban anything @aol.com (and Hotmail, Yahoo, etc. if you so desire). I believe you can even set it so that people who have already registered with those addresses are not affected, thus eliminating distruptions for any legitimate current members.

On the other hand, moderating new users works well, too. :).

1. Well actually sachmo, my intention isn't to publicly humiliate anyone, but just to share the info that I think would be of interest to y'all.

2. Looking at the "out of the office for a week" quote made me want to double-check my memory and the accuracy of everything. I was wrong on the last date of correspondence with Horns, but y'all did make a good catch on that one. I hadn't even thought about it. Here's a timeline, verified by looking at the dates of e-mails and posts.

Tuesday, April 29th (11th Anniversary of "The Day The Niggaz Took Over", incidentally ;)): Horns is banned.

Tuesday, April 29th & morning of Wednesday, April 30th: He sends me at least 10 e-mails trying to convince me to let him back on the board. (There may be more. I have 10 of them saved though.)

Wednesday, April 30th, late afternoon: I receive the IM above from Horns after he realizes I am not going to let him back on the board.

Thursday, May 1st-Monday, May 5th: radio silence

Monday, May 5th: Horns' deadline expires. SkyDog is able to stop shaking in his boots. ;)

Wednesday, May 7th: According to Horns' letter that he asked me to post HERE (http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8914), he is called into the conference room by his VP and HR rep and fired. Interesting, considering that according to the IM he sent me, he was supposedly out of the office that entire week.

Some time in mid-to-late May: A rep from GameSpy contacts Ol' SkyDog, saying some guy was complaining about his personal information being posted on FOFC. They confirmed that it was Horns. I send links to the final few threads he was in, as well as the thread above, and I forward them the e-mail in which he himself ASKED me to post that final thread.

I've heard nothing else from GameSpy, and it has been at least six or seven weeks since I let them see for themselves. I'm guessing we're safe. :D

I was in LA during those wonderful fun filled days. (

I do have a pretty funny story to relate about losing my car and being stranded at the beach for almost a week during the riots but this isn't the thread for it.

I also could tell you how I was sequestered in my apartment complex for 24 hrs right after the riot officially ended because someone tried to shoot down a police helicopter and the FBI cordoned off the complex but again, that's for another thread.
