I just got this news item in CM4:
"Following Valencia player Gaizka Mendieta's plea for first team football, soccernet.com conducted a poll to get the fans' view on whether Mendieta should be part of Los Ches' first team plans.
Remarkably not one single fan wanted Mendieta in the first team.
The full result was: Yes: 1%; No: 99%; Undecided: 0%"
Aside from the fact that, obviously a couple people actually did want him in the first team ;) I found it pretty hilarious. There is definitely a much more diverse selection of news events than in previous versions, and hopefully this will keep going up in the future.

or it could have been Mendieta stuffing the ballot box in his own favor. ;)

That's great! :D
I have a problem wiht my team. I was approached by a player saying that the club lacked depth. I told him I was brining in players. The next day he goes to the press, and again I tell him I bring in players. One more time before the game said I had declared the matter resovled. I even had the chance to reprimand him for his comments, but choose not too. Then I bring in a few players, and suddenly he now feels resigned to leaving the club. And under Major concerns it says lack squad depth. Any ways that I can make him happy. I've got two other players like that. I bring in players, I pulled guys up from my reserve squad, still he is bitching?

I had the lack of squad depth as well for a couple of my players.
Tried promoting reserves, that didn't work, so went and signed a couple of good players to be squad rotation guys relatively cheap everybody was happy again.
I would recommend looking at what area your squad has the least depth (def/mid/att) and signing a couple of transfer listed players in that area as backups/rotation players.

Just noticed this in the EP4 list.
-
Stopped first team poll news from saying that not one single fan wants the player in the first team, when 1% did.
-
I guess that 1% will be heard :D

I've actually seen one of those polls, the player in question was Marco Materazzi of Inter, where indeed not one single fan wanted him in the first team. 0% yes to 100% no.
Hilarious.

Just had a news item I have never seen before in my game.
---
After Oldham failed to pay their player's wages, the PFA were forced to step in.
The PFA have paid this month's wages, however they have placed an embargo upon any transfers involving this club until the money is repaid.
---
Ouch - talk about financial difficulties !!
I laughed, probably because I don't like Oldham :)
i've had a pole go 3% no 95% yes and 2 percent undecided....but never 1%...that's hilarious

When looking at 'squad depth' the players DO take into account the quality of those players (eg. if you're playing in the English Premiership then having 132 youth players won't convince the chap that you have 'depth' to the squad.
