Draft Format

Opening Day is April 3.

FIRST DAY OF OFFICIAL DRAFTING WILL ME MARCH 6.

Hopefully we can do a soft start before then.

The draft will take place in this thread once the league has been set up. It is a snake draft.

The first pick each morning must be made by 10 am eastern time. Then the four hour clock will start for the next pick. Also, lets make the cutoff 10 pm eastern at night so if the final pick is made at 8 pm, the next person has until 10 am eastern time to make his pick. If most people in this league live in the western time zone or central time zone we could adjust this

On weekends the first pick must be made by 10 am eastern, we'll *go with a standard 4 hours with a 10 pm eastern time cut off.

If there are problems in that you know your pick is coming up but you won't be online, submit a list either to myself or to a proxy drafter for you. Otherwise, you will get the next player on Yahoo's list. Maybe pick someone who is on the opposite end of the draft from you so that you likely won't be grabbing from the same pool of players anyways.

Opening Day is April 3. If the draft is not complete by April 1 at noon, we will have a quick live draft via AIM (or a program people actually use) to complete the draft on Saturday April 4 at 7pm . Anyone who won't be able to make that will need to submit a list to me, a proxy, or have a proxy in chat (who is not in the league) to finish out their team.

If you miss more than 2 picks in the draft (i.e. time limit expired so a Yahoo rankings pick), particularly in the first 10 rounds, then you can be replaced as manager.

I hate to lay down some of these rules but we're going to be drafting over 250 players so we need to get it done in a timely fashion.

I think, the way staffs are used now, it should be lowered somewhat...maybe only to 45 or 44. Maybe to 40. No lower than 40, I believe.

I think 48 is the sweet spot. It keeps people honest in terms of investing in pitching and most weeks everyone has at least one pitcher starting twice and you can use your flex pitcher as a starter as well which makes it reasonably easy to get to 48.

As I said, if there is clamor to lower it, we can do it.

I am okay . Sorry to alarm people. Things have been busy and I am still recovering from the loss of Chris Sale. That and with the time difference with Singapore and I never seem to get around to this. I will invite laser and zinto into the league on yahoo and I will set up a draft order. So lets try for a soft start ASAP says the person who delayed things by a week. No time limit will be enforced until Monday.

It will be four hours between picks. All first picks must be made by 10 am in the morning eastern time. The cutoff is 10 pm eastern time. That means if a pick is made at 7 pm, it is possible that the next pick rolls over to the next day.

If someone misses their pick (they go over the four hours), then anybody who is around should give them the next person according to the default Yahoo rankings. Even if the guy on top of that list sucks is injured or is named Pablo Sandavol.

PLEASE PM THE NEXT PERSON AFTER YOUVE MADE A PICK. A lot of us are busy and we depend on the PM's to know when it is our turn. I think that is it. If there is anything I forgot please let us know
