Looks unspectacular. in fact, the crappy episode of "A Haunting" on Discovery that I am currently watching seems creepier.

Maybe it's just a bad trailer and is actually a good movie. I hope so since we need more good horror stuff.

The original is much better.

I think the trailer for this movie looks sweet. I definitely want to see it. It looks like the haunted house version of "The Blair Witch", which could be awesome.

Like the Blair Witch, it's the kind of movie that could really scary if you allow yourself to get immersed in it. If you don't get into it for whatever reason, shaky cam bothers you, dialogue bothers you, or you're just too cool for school, it will likely fall quite flat.

Definitely looking forward to this.

I don't think it was broken, just malfunctioning.

I am glad they are re-releasing the film as it is a great film and was very difficult to find after it's first release. Luckily I have a friend of a friend who worked on a few horror movies and thus was able to get a copy of the movie. I know the studios were originally discussing re-making the film rather than re-releasing it, but thankfully they nixed that idea.

Saw it last night. I got home around 11:50 and couldn't sleep until 12:30 thinking about this damn movie. I liked it a lot! I thought the guy had a lot of funny (sarcastic) comments throughout the movie.

Only thing I was thinking though was - why the fu*k would they stay in that house all that time!?!!!

Really love how the suspense builds over the course of the film. The dialog was very good as it seems genuine for two young people. Very good film.

Saw it tonight. Didn't really want to. Thought it was pretty predictable and not very scary. Oh well.

I could easily see how you wouldn't like this movie if you went in not wanting to see it. It's really the type of experience you have buy into. I think it'd be pretty easy to sit back and pick it apart if you wanted to.

Where'd you see it, DeTox?

I just found out that someone I went to school with is in the movie.

Any movie can be picked apart if someone wants to put any effort into it. I think some think that artistic expression has to be perfect in order to be enjoyed.

Anyways, I also enjoyed how the audience was involved in the story. I got a chill down when the Ouija board appeared in the home and the audience groans because they knew shit was about to get a whole lot worse.

Pladium sadly. Went earlier in the day and it was still packed.

I dunno, I thought it could be okay but before the movie I told my girlfriend what I figured would happen based on the previews I saw and it ended up happening as I called it.

Plus I was pissed we didn't see Zombieland.

It's okay, I am seeing it tonight for redemption.

I could see where people like Paranormal, but just didn't do it for me.

My review of this middling movie is in the movie thread, if anyone cares.

It's amazing that this movie has already made over $33 million (around $20 million last week alone). I imagine it will continue to make more money over the next two weeks leading up to Halloween.

The budget was, what, $18,000? The marketing and advertising seemed to be limited primarily to the internet for the most part. So, even if you say that they spent $1 million on ads and marketing (which I doubt they did), this movie has to be on its way to being the most profitable movie of all time, no?
