Silly Alliance. :p

Ogun : Orc : Hunter : 54 : Eldre'Thalas : Ogun's pet is a Teldrassil Owl which, as you know, is only found on the heavily fortified Night Elf island/tree of Teldrassil. Ogun swam across the sea to Teldrassil, died numerous times as Rutheran Village, but finally tamed the Owl. The Owl ("Paupeo") rocks. When Ogun PVPs, he can feel the hate coming from the Alliance players (PVPers hate the hard-to-target flying pets). Also of note is that Ogun levelled in Mulgore, not Durotar, because I had already levelled Grilge in Durotar (see below) and couldn't face that again. Went up two levels walking all the way to Mulgore.

Grilge : Troll : Mage : 48 : Eldre'Thalas : My first character. I died a lot. Mages are great unless something gets within melee range, in which case it's all over (Grilge's primarily been a Fire or Arcane Mage, so not as many snares).

Hrundi : Troll : Priest : 26 : Eldre'Thalas : Created this character specifically to see the instances Grilge and Ogun never got an invite for. Hrundi only runs instances. Good stuff.

Actually, I'm currently not playing and haven't played since September, but I'm planning on taking it up again, a little bit, once the NFL season is over.

Bodkin - Gnome - Rogue - 53 - Detheroc. Bodkin is my main (though he's the third character I've started in earnest), and is currently an Assassination build (Cold Blood rocks) with a touch of Subtlety (Improved Sap = amazing). I've run just about every instance to this point, including Maraudon and Sunken Temple, and am looking to start BRD, LBRS and UBRS soon.

Ironthumb - Dwarf - Paladin - 40 - Detheroc. I haven't touched Ironthumb in a long time, but he's currently hanging out in Stranglethorne Vale.

Trueshot - Dwarf - Hunter - 33 - Detheroc. Ditto for Trueshot. I actually named him before realizing there was a Hunter Talent called 'Trueshot Aura.' I felt pretty stupid after that with the name Trueshot.

Brightstave - Night Elf - Druid - 16 - ???. I can't remember what server Brightstave is on, and my WoW is down right now. It's an RP server that a friend of mine runs on, and I was trying to catch up to him. I hate the grind in Darkshore...the quests there seem to suck. A lot. I gave him up a while back, but might go back some day.

Just making my progress in updating as far as Vince's characters. I also have no idea why there is so much space before the chart, it is the first thing in the post.

What do you think of the Combat Build? Obviously you like it, but have you used Assassination or Subtlety at all? I started as a Combat/Daggers Rogue until about 20 or so, and then re-specced to Subtlety and liked it a lot better. Nice armor -- hopefully I'll be collecting that sort of thing soon :)

Kurigan - 60 Gnome Rogue (Deathwing): Full Bloodfang, some Deathdealer's for armor. Ancient Qiraji Ripper and Maladath are his weapons. Saw the first 5 bosses in Naxx before taking a break from raiding and messing around in PvP. Was 17/34/0 combat swords before switching to 21/3/27 for PvP.

Shadowalt - 60 Dwarf Priest (Deathwing): Shadow spec'd. Has 5/6 of the Marshal's PvP set and the Grand Marshal spellblade. Obviously shadow spec'd 7/0/44 for PvP.

I've tried a ton of talent specs over the almost 2 years I've been playing Ez, but with the two daggers I have, and having discussions with other dagger rogues, this is the best build for me. If I PvPed at all, I might change it up a bit, but for now I'm sticking with this. :)

We've just about cleared Blackwing, but I keep getting shafted on rolls for Bloodfang stuff. We are just starting Nax, so hopefully my set will get better.

My wife almost has a full set of Wrath though. :(

As far as raiding goes, combat daggers or swords is pretty much the only way to go. Any other build just can't keep up damage-wise.

For leveling, its more a matter of personal preference and playstyle. Combat swords is generally the fastest leveling build, but just about any of the standard builds will work fine for leveling when it comes to rogues.

Hrm. Since raiding is where I want to be, I might have to re-spec then. I've never understood the swords build (I've never really looked at it much, to be honest)...it seems that giving up on Backstab and/or Ambush would be a tremendous knock on your DPS...but then again, I definitely underutilize Garrote and Cheapshot.

I have not, though you're the second person to ask me that. My girlfriend is a Shakespear nut, and I like to have semi-applicable names for my characters. As a Daggers rogue, Bodkin seemed to fit.

All are on Moonrunner, unfortunately. It's PvE and I started there because the friend that got me started was on there already. Maybe someday I'll start a character on a PvP server if I keep playing.

I also had a warrior up to lvl 36 and a pally up to 20+ but they were boring to me so I killed them. Any questions any noob has about any type of character, I've played them all except Warlock.

In doing tables on FOFC, I've noticed that each time you put in a td, I think it was, there was the side effect of always adding another line break at the top for no real reason.

I've noticed a lot of people stick to one server while doing alts. Any reason for this (is it for more flexibility during guild raids)? Personally, I'd love trying new servers when I'm ready to make some alts. I'm on a PvE server now and I think I'd like to try a RPPvP server next.

You can mail money/items between characters on the same server. That's why I always did it.

I have a ridiculous number of characters on a number of servers. I love starting over fresh, but I also never get too far. Highest characters are a 55 warrior, 50 warlock and 42 priest on 3 different servers.

Looks like my new main will be created tomorrow, a Draenai mage named Drazyn. That one's going to team up with my wife, a female Draenai priest, on the Fenris server. Will probably be creating a couple Blood Elves on the newest pvp server as well. Maybe a rogue and paladin.

Trying to keep tab since myself and the carbon unit designated girlfriend have started recently. Sorry to be a pain but would it be possible for you to make the background on your table a darker colour for those of us on the Sideline Green style? If it's too much trouble, I can always just copy-and-paste to another screen. Just asking in case it wasn't too difficult to do.

Regardless, thanks for your effort in keeping this mess together. It's awesome resource. :)

Whenever I did a dynasty with stuff like yours posted, it would always mess up every time I edited. I found I had to recopy the table over again. Nothing else ever fixed anything. Well, I'm a n00b as well, but I've gotten neck deep in the UI/Addon world and right now I'm running:

FuBar - Information bars on the top and bottom of the frame
(with the various addons for the bar: Clock, Volume, RecZone, Auditor, SkillsPlus, XP, Experience, MicroMenu, Emote, Bag, Performance, and a few other stuff on the bar for other addons)
Bongos - action bar movement and editing
CyCircled - making the buttons circular and glossy (as one option)
simpleMinimap - making the Minimap square (as one option)
Detached MiniMap Buttons - fairly obvious what this does
eCasting Bar - a nicer casting bar (including target casting bar)
eePanels - for making seperate boxes for buttons or chat boxes
Prat - chat options
CTMod - I mainly use it for the Buff bar and for the tooltip placement, but it has some good stuff
Atlas - intricate maps of instances, battlegrounds, etc
AtlasLoot Enhanced - shows the loot in instances..
AtlasQuest - quests for instances..
Cartographer - replacement for map
vBagnon - one large bag
ag_Unitframes - much better (IMO) looking unitframes

That's off the top of my head. I can't remember some of the others, though I'm sure there are a few more.

As for ESSENTIAL mods (IMO):

Atlas, AtlasLoot Enhanced, AtlasQuest
Cartographer
simpleMinimap
Bongos (Bartender3 or Trinity also does the same thing)
FuBar (or TitanPanel) + their various addons

Well I've spent way too much of the last two days doing quests in the new zone behind the portal. I like the area, and as always with Blizzard some of the quests are quite entertaining and cleverly named(one quest is entitled "Outland Sucks" :D ... another you get a temporary felguard pet, kill some stuff, and the pet eats the animal you kill, takes a dump and you have to root through the "fel poo" to find an item, leaving you with a debuff named "Stanky" for 30 seconds or a minute).

The quests are good, there are a *ton* of them, but holy crap nothing will beat instances for levelling. We did the first instance last night, Hellfire Ramparts I believe is what its called, 4 times. We weren't going really hardcore, we could have done it in under 3 hours, but we were going back to sell/repair/try to get quests after our reputation went up, etc. the exp was astounding. The next instance everyone is calling the Furnace, I don't know its official title, hopefully I'll be getting 62 there tonight.

As far as the "politics" of being in a big guild, I'm not terribly happy with the server move I just did, however, moving to one of the brand new, empty servers, has its advantages... no competing over outdoor spawns for quests primarily, no server crashes b/c of the small population, and on my old server(Malygos) the alliance outnumbered the horde by about 6:1(my understanding is that Malygos is one of the worst as far as the alliance/horde ratio). Somehow, its not like that on the new one, hooray! The horde is actually in control of the world pvp stuff in Outlands so far.

EagleFan

Two essential add-ons, in my opinion.

Titan panel - Gives you a lot of information like pace you on on to level, how many free spots in your bags, damage percentage, location coordinates, gold.

Auctioneer - mouse over the object and you can see not only the vendor proce but how much it has been going for in auction on your server, it gives you a suggested price for auction to be able sell quickly and profitably.

One that is great for quilds:

Calendar (I forget if there is another part of the name) - lets you set up events and raids so that all in your guild can see by clicking on the calendar.

Ryche

I think it's called Guild Calendar, but if he types in "Calendar" into Curse-Gaming or ui.worldofwar.net, it should pop up.

I used to use Titan Panel as well. I liked it, but I think there are just more plug ins for the FuBar.

I've tried both Fubar and Titan Panel and really prefer Fubar because of Honorfu and the fact that I use bartender3 action bars.

Perl Classic is a nice mod for easy to use and customize Unit Frames.

CT Mail Mod is an absolute must-have, can't live without mod.

TipBuddy is nice for hover over info of NPCs and players.

When playing my rogue the action bar would lock sometimes when I went to stealth or unstealthed, so I'd either be stealthed with my normal buttons on the bar or unstealthed with my stealth buttons on the bar. No idea what caused it or why it would happen, but thats why I switched to bartender3.

The thing I like most about bartender3 is all changes can be made from a drop-down menu on Fubar, but both mods are good IMO and I would have probably stayed with bongos if it hadn't bugged out on me sometimes.

I'd love to have a FOFC guild, but we'd need a common affiliation (Horde or Alliance), and probably similar races (Dwarves/Gnomes/Humans can all meet in Stormwind thanks to the tram to Stormwind, but for example, Night Elves, Blood Elves, the new Alliance Race and Tauren all have their own start areas)

hit 62, whee.

I used a ton of mods for raiding before they broke the game in early december(the big pre-xpac patch, the end of raiding for my guild at least), since then i've picked some back up that I love:

X-Perl Unit Frames - I'm using this one specifically because it has an option to fade out the frames of people not in range of a specific spell(I set it to flash heal as a priest), so I always know who is nearby for healing.

Clique - click casting, lets you assign spells to mouse clicks, and then you click on the unit frame to cast the spell. For example, mine are set up so that shift-left click = flash heal(highest rank), shift-middle = flash(rank 5), shift-right = best greater heal, ctrl-left = renew, alt-left = power word shield, etc.

Chronometer - tracks your heals over time/DOTs, shows who you've casted them on and how long they have left.

Decursive - even without being able to click on it just seeing everyone in the raid that has debuffs I can cure is mandatory

CT Raid - mandatory for raiding

I'm not using a bar mod right now, I used to use Nurfed, but I'm just using the default blizzard bar at the bottom, and the two additional bars on the right side for other spells.

Some updates -

Bodkin is now level 64, and I finally got the Mantle of the Dusk-Dweller to drop off the final boss in Blood Furnace last night (~120 Defense, ~20 Agility and Stamina, ~+10 to hit, ~+40 to attack power shoulder pads). I've been running Blood Furnace solely for that for like two weeks (got the chestpiece on one of my first runs).
Daorun is now level 24. Having a little brother with a 60+ character who enjoys running VC for no apparent reason makes it very easy to level and gear a lowbie :)

I have two characters on the Moon Guard server -

Drfaustus, Undead Warlock, Level 16 - His name is from the main character in Marlowe's play about a man who sold his soul to the devil, Dr. Faustus.

Brooklynne, Blood Elf Priest, Level 16 - I've never run a Blood Elf, and I've also never run a female character. Running a female character with the Blood Elf model on a Role Playing server is rather creepy, by the way.

I started WoW again about a week ago. I have a Tauren Druid on Moonguard, level 17, named Amnesio. No add-ons as yet. I haven't bought the expansion but will try to get it soon. Paladin is the class that most interests me.

To be honest, I kinda suck at these online games. :) Especially at things like the auction house.

Bodkin is up to 69, should hit 70 by Wednesday. Sorry I've bailed on my Moon Guard guys for a while, I've just been pushing to get Bodkin up to speed in my guild. I have yet to encounter end-game type content, and I'm licking my chops in anticipation.

One thing I'd like to ask those who DO have end-game experience...should I waste my time crawling through the higher-end instances for gear? Or should I just focus on attunement to Karazhan, and let the gear come from there, which will be better anyways? The Assassination set looks amazing, and I could get it from places like Sethekk Halls, Shadow Labyrinth, etc...but I'm thinking that maybe I shouldn't waste my time and should worry more about getting attuned.

Getting attuned for Karazhan involves running a bunch of 5 mans anyway. In case you aren't aware of the attunement quest line(apologies if you are!), there is a quest or two in deadwind pass outside of the karazhan entrance that kicks it off, then you do a couple of quick dropoffs to Alterac Mountains, then Shattrath. After that, its all about 5 mans. The first piece of the key is at the end of Shadow Lab, the second/third pieces are in the middle of Steam Vaults, and Arcatraz. After you get those you clear Black Morass, then you have a turnin or two and you are done.

Our guild has generally felt like Karazhan loot is good, but nothing spectacular in terms of how much of an upgrade it is. We were a Naxx guild before the expansion, so that may or may not hold true for anyone that wasn't, I really have no idea!

Right now we are spending about 30-35 hours a week in Karazhan and killing 6-8 bosses(12-16 pieces of loot divided amongst 9 classes/10 people). If you are just looking for upgrades to your gear, the 5 mans will surely be the better way to go.

I got my druid up to 22. Slowly relearning the game, taking my time leveling as I waste time raising Fishing and Cooking skills. The druid class is much more fun than I expected. I like the versatility of being able to play healer, tank or rogue style. I made an ill advised attempt to get through Desolace to get the book I need to get above 150 in cooking, but even with Prowl I was eaten by a big pack of hyena. Even so, it was fun trying to dodge through a bunch of ?? baddies.

As Radii pointed out, you're going to be picking up some gear from those instances anyway as you get yourself keyed. Another thing is every little bit helps. Especially early on in the end-game instances when you're learning the new encounters.

There's other benefits to running these instances as well. I don't know where you stand guild-wise, but if you're in a guild looking to do Karazhan then running Shadow Labs, Black Morass (pain in the ass), Arcatraz as a guild can help build the teamwork and coordination necessary in the harder instances.

If you aren't currenty in a guild looking to do end-game, then getting the best gear you can outside of Karazhan can really help you get into a guild down the line. Also, when apping to an end-game guild they'll probably bring you along on some of the 5-mans and knowing the ins and outs of those instances can be a big help.

Guinness, my human warlock on Fenris, is level 30 now. Not leveling him too fast as I haven't been this far as alliance before and I just generally screw around a lot. Also have a draenai mage name Drazyn on Fenris who is level 27.

Well, I hit 70, and I must say, flying is fun :) Now, however, I seem to be Mr. Indecisive when it comes to my spec. I've tried Mutilate (not a fan), Combat Swords (I like) and subtlety (seems more geared for PvP), but I'm not sure what to do from here. I want to try a combat swords/hemo build, but it seems like there are a lot of 'wasted' points in the Subtlety tree.

Thanks to Radii and Atocep for the info -- yeah, I did know the Karazhan attunement stuff (I've done through Shadow Labs now), but I was more thinking along the lines of "when I'm done with that, if I don't have gear, what should I do?" My guild is running Karazhan now (took down Attumen yesterday, and are fighting Moroes as we speak), and I should be joining them in a few days. I'm the #2 or 3 rogue on the totem poll in terms of loot acquiring.

I guess now that I'm 70, whenever my guild isn't running instances I should start getting into Sethekk, Shadow Labs, Arcatraz, etc to gear up.

There's a new real time character update website called The Armory that pulls all your info from in game, all the way down to your current buffs. At least I assume this is new, I just learned of it yesterday. Here is Rhiow!

So for someone who hasn't played WoW in a while, how is the new expansion working out? I know they added the new races, did they also add a good bit of new lower level content or is it mostly/all high level stuff?

New content for the 2 new races (levels 1-20). New content for all players 61-70. Everything else is the same (as far as I can tell).

Congrats. I didn't realize you could transfer off the server, but I believe transfers on aren't allowed, yet. Foutzal made 68 today. Still on Moonguard.

Nice. I'm actually looking at starting over on Zul'jin as well as that seems to be the most heavily populated horde pve server. If I can get my wife to start playing again, I need to find somewhere she can transfer her 60 priest to.

Yeah, I had to pay to move her but I couldn't scrap her after taking all the time to level as far as I did.
