Or do all NBA cheerleaders now dress like streetwalkers? This is definitely a reason I now prefer the college game - the nba is just totally without class or taste.

I went to a cavs game and noticed the same thing. I would say strippers instead of streetwalkers though. Not every stripper is a ho.

No. I have no idea where that is. Just used the power of Google image search. It's random.

Yes, you are a prude if the female body offends you. Just my opinion though.

For your own sake, I recommend you stay far far away from any high school proms.
If the NBA cheerleaders outfits bother you, the current prom fashions might very well kill you.

Perhaps it's more the exploitation of the female body that he finds offensive.

If they choose to dress that way I don't see how it's exploitation. No one is putting a gun to their head.

Exploitation doesn't have to be forced in order to exist.

The ball hugger shorts of the 80s. Now that was exploitation.

If these girls are fine with what they are doing I don't see how it can be called exploitation. Women have used their sexuality since the dawn of man to get the things they want. Unless you are talking about women exploiting themselves to get themselves the things they want, which to me makes it moot since that's like a oxymoron. Because if you exploint yourself for your own gain they you had the choice to make the decision. It's just like a worker that works their ass off to gain praise and promotions at work, you can't say your company is exploiting you if you made the decision to exploit yourself for your own gain.
edit.
FYI : I'm not approving the actions, I'm just saying people need to take responsibility of their own actions.

Well, actually, I said "exploitation of the female body".. not exploitation of those particular women. I didn't say that they were victims. But I do think that it's possible to be offended by seeing the female body exploited (regardless of whether the owner of the body is freely taking part in the exploitation) but not find the female body itself inherently offensive.

It's possible to be offened by seeing someone pick their nose in public, too. :D

What offends me is the commercialization of sexuality; I don't mind admiring a beautiful woman, but it's different when she's grinding her hips like a stripper and dressed like a hooker. That, to me, is distasteful. It's totally different at the college level.

What frightens me is when they bring out the ten year old junior cheerleaders and they're doing all the Britney Spears grinding and gyrating...
Saying that it's different at the college level is BS, though. Yes, cheerleaders tend not to dress in skintight clothes and do all the sexy moves, but the majority of schools have DANCE SQUADS that do them in their place.

That's because professional league cheerleaders are in actuality Dance Squads.

That's true, there are colleges that are just as creepy with their showgirls as the nba. But, for the most part, it's much more wholesome. It's also a lot better in the nfl than the nba.

What I find interesting is the fact that while there's usually a big difference in content between collegiate cheerleaders and pro dance squads, there's very little difference in age in the peformers.

Exploitation doesn't have to be forced in order to exist.
They're as exploited as the NBA players are for their particular talents.
