Rockstar has invited me to get some hands-on preview time with Table Tennis next week, and opened an invitation for two friends to join me.

Not your typical Rockstar fare, I know, but I figured I'd see if anybody wanted to tag along.

In Nor-Cal, we kick it old-school with croquet parties...

Shrug. Like I said, seems a little conservative for a Rockstar title, but I've never been one to say no to free food, and since they said I could bring a couple friends, I thought I'd open it up.

We do that as well, but with the way our game has evolved, I'm not sure if it is still proper to call it croquet.

Oh darn, missed it by a week... I was down there kicking it with the homies this past weekend.

If you want to make the trip up here before next Wednesday, sure. I just don't think too many out-of-staters would be interested in coming to LA for Table Tennis. :D

Wednesday afternoon of next week, they're going to be at the Roosevelt Hotel in downtown.

That the one on Hollywood Blvd?

That the one on Hollywood Blvd?

If you say so. :) I've only driven to downtown LA once, and that was to the Wilshire Grand Hotel on 7th & Fig. I'm gonna have to print out driving directions to get to the Roosevelt.

Dola,

I usually take the train when I go to E3. Cheaper and I don't have to pay for parking, but this event runs late enough that I can't do that next week.

Yeah, the Roosevelt is on Hollywood Blvd. between La Brea and Highland (it's in Hollywood, not downtown). It's basically across the street from Grauman's Chinese Theatre. There's a red line stop at Hollywood & Highland.

I live only about two miles from there--what time does the event start--I'll be working during the day, but you mentioned it runs late.

I work right behind the Wilshire Grand. :)

I was out there for a conference last weekend. Would've dropped by to visit had I known!

Stuff gets going around 2, but the tournament doesn't start until something like 8:30. Runs 'til 11'ish.

Pyser, nobody's claimed a spot, so you're welcome to go.

Alternatively, if anyone in my area(amish country) is up for some raucous bingo next tuesday night, holler. It starts at the local fire department around 7pm.

:)

digamma, you still up for it? If so, let me know and I can PM you the information.

Pyser's tentatively got the other spot, but he won't be able to get there until the evening. If anybody can definitely make it, y'all can crush his dreams of table tennis domination.

Otherwise, looks like digamma and Pyser are the "lucky" "winners." ;)
