Just wanted to see who people's true favorites are. I'm not after who you think is the most influential or greatest group of all time. Just the one who you personally have gotten the most enjoyment out of. Mine is fairly well known, of course:

Good old Def Leppard. :)

Feel free to include your favorite albums by the artist as well.

My top 3 are Hysteria, Pyromania, and Slang. Great rock albums all of 'em.

My Bloody Valentine. They were kind of under the radar as far as radio and media hype, but they really changed everything. What everybody thought Nirvana/Pixies were, MBV really was.

Also, their live performance was so loud that I was actually completely deaf for several hours afterwards.

I brought Pyromania on my trip to the beach earlier this month, I always liked them. I admit I was a little shocked to see a rockumentary on them and they all had very heavy British accents. I never knew they were British until then (of course, I never really thought about where they were from). So there I was, fixated on VH1 and thinking...wtf?

My favorite album of all time is Joshua Tree by U2 - but other than that album, I never was much of a fan of their other stuff.

I don't really have a favorite band but felt like I needed to contribute.

I saw the Operation Mindcrime tour back in the day. It was great stuff. Easily one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Just played the whole album straight through (even opened with some stuff off "Empire"). For a while there, it was all I listened to.

Oh, and Queensryche did the whole Mindcrime album last year, complete with a couple of actors and small stage. Great show.

Eazy E: Eazy Duz It is my favorite album ever. I've owned it no less than 4 times in 3 formats, can sing along even today...

Really makes one wonder what could have been if Eazy had survived and reconciled with his fellow NWA'ers in this "feel-good" rap era; when comebacks are the norm, and super producers and featured acts inundate albums to either highlight or overshadow performer's strengths and weaknesses...

You haven't lived until you have been to the Avalon Ballroom on St Patty's weekend to see them. The most positive energy you will ever see at any show.

Jane's Addiction, the Chili Peppers, Idlewild, Suicidal Tendencies, Scott 4, Jellyfish, And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead, Teenage Fan Club and Dinosaur Jr have all been long standing favourites, with a feeling that they are constantly better than other bands I like.

I've bought so many great debut albums by bands that I can;t include many new bands who show a lot of promise (i.e. Kasabian, The Killers, Kaiser Chiefs, etc) who have still only released one album. But both The Raveonettes and Kings of Leon have had two class albums and they are getting close to inclusion in the A-list

(I'm sure they'll be very excited about the prospect of making an anonymous English guy's favourite list!) :)

Pavement / Stephen Malkmus.

SM's new CD is fucking AMAZING.

I agree on the new CD but I saw Pavement on some good nights and on some rather bad ones as well. I remember one time SM was yelling at someone else in the band the whole show because of some perceived mistake.

My pick is Guided By Voices. Lots of beer + GBV = about as good as it gets and I've never seen the later without a lot of the former.

Cheap Trick, first heard them 27 years ago during lunch break back in high school. The girl I was smoking a joint with plugged Heaven tonight into her Car cassette player and I was hooked. That girl and those bad habits have long since gone, but I still have plenty of CT in my MP3 player.

Fav albums:
Silver-25th anniversary concert and live at Budokan are my 2 favorites as I think they are at their best live.

As for me.... I think the Beatles are simply a cut above anything ever, so it's kind of them by default.

But putting them aside, it's probably Superchunk. Favorite albums are (in an ever-shifrting order) Indoor Living, Foolish, and Here's Where The Strings Come In

When I was much younger I remember seeing Superchunk open for Fugazi (memory hazy - I could be wrong). I remember knowing nothing at all about Superchunk, but being impressed by them.

Def Leppard will reportedly perform two songs on ABC's "Live with Regis and Kelly" airing Thursday, June 30 at 9:00 a.m. The band are expected to play one of their classic hits as well as a new song for the "Live" audience.

Promotion is promotion, I s'pose. I'm just pissed that their concert in Schaumburg sold out. At the time I was trying to get tickets, it was the ONLY show on the whole freaking tour that was sold out.

I guess. It probably has more to do with the target audience of 30-something moms who remember Pour Some Sugar On Me than anything else. And I remember when John Waite plaed Regis a few years ago. Not my favorite artist, but I've always been a big fan of his from the Babys through his recent solo stuff.

We're getting old. I can't wait until Cadillac whips out a Slayer song to try to sell its 2018 STS.

Throwing Copper is good, but Mental Jewelry is better. ;)

It's tough to say what my all-time favorite band is, because I've had so many different bands were favorites at different points in my life. If I were to be forced to pick one a gunpoint (which is effectively the idea of this thread) it would be Alice in Chains.
