Later that night, "Fuck, whats up with these mosquito bites!!" now Ive got the itchies BUT Im lucky in that they didn't get my jewels....yet. just thighs, ankles and knees.

BF = best friend who lives 6dd
GF = girl friend who lives with me, and 3R. C moved to california but from what I hear it didn't work out with her and RS so she's likely moving back to St.A.

Chiggers suck. And they are disgusting, too.

I used a product called Chiggeraid when I last had them, and it seemed to work pretty well. It sooths the itch, and seals the wounds, so that little f-ers suffocate.

Clear nail polish works as well...

apparently their suffocating is a myth (i thought it was true) but its actually their saliva eating your skin long after theyre gone. Your skin creates a hard cavity around their saliva but that actually works like a straw so its imperative you wash them off right away, a soapy shower, will do (I did), then apply the ointment and wait it out. It sucks.

Hmm, I have a great chigger prevention technique:

Don't go outside, the air conditioner is broke.

I can't believe there have been 15 posts, and no one has stated the obvious.

"The South Sucks"

1) Ahem.

2) Apparently they aren't just a Southern thing. A quick Google turned up various reference to controlling them from: Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, and Texas, actually more material in the first few pages from those states than from Southern states.

Kansas is just Wal-Mart's version of the south...

I apparently stay out of those Geography threads for a reason, cause I consider all of those Southern states, well not Iowa, but its a "hick" state of sorts, so that counts.http://dynamic.gamespy.com/%7Efof/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Speaking as a Kansan who now lives in as Southern a state as you can find, Kansas is not a Southern state. Heck, they were even a Free state during the War of Northern Agression. :)

One of my brother's friends had a bad case of the chiggers when we were young (up in Jersey... so not the South :p). Putting vaseline over the skin did the trick (I guess the same as clear nail polish).

I was infected in New Jersey as well.
