This certainly is creepy.

That's kindof scary. I'd like to see a legit tech news source like CNET or PC Magazine verify this before I believe it, tho. Or at least someone I know who has taken apart their Dell and found the same thing. Makes me feel pretty good about building my own computer right about now since I know what I put in there.

I like how he jumps from "the police told me to call Homeland Security" to "Homeland Security put it there". You moron, the police are telling you its an issue for DHS to investigate, not that they did it.

More than likely it's a refurb Dell that someone had done this to.

Greg: The issue is how DHS says the information related to the keylogger is exempt from FOIA requests. That's what makes this weird.

heh

See now, I felt very comfortable with this thread up until that.

Person posts obvious hoaxlore, minor speculation, someone finally goes to Snopes, posts debunking link, case closed.

But now the timeline is more like:

Person posts obvious hoaxlore, minor speculation, someone finally goes to Snopes, posts debunking link, case seemingly closed, big brother operative makes snarky dismissive comment.

Great. Now I have to go and find my old tinfoil hat, I still have it somewhere.

Actually it was, "heh, good idea. Deploy idea. Kill all witnesses." But, you probably didn't want to know the whole train of thought, right?

Don't forget your tinfoil undies.
