Anyone have experience with Indiegogo? It appears to be functionally identical to Kickstarter, but I have no experience with it. They've been advertising a scanner that will quickly scan books, accounting for curvature of pages, and as someone who is trying to digitize his sheet music collection, I am hugely interested.
Just wanted to pick anyone here's brain to see if they've got experience with it.

There have been a few comedian/actor/podcasters I trust who have had projects funded there.
That doesn't help much, but, it's like kickstarter, there's no guarantees, it's as legit as the alleged content creator is, there's no guidelines or approval process. But if you believe in something enough to take a shot, go for it, understanding that you might not get anything in return.

I've used it a handful of times, but not in probably 18 months or so. Assuming nothing has changed in the meantime, the big difference is that with Indiegogo the payment is made as soon as you back the project, where as Kickstarter waits until the target is reached. All of the projects I backed on Indiegogo were from established folks and all delivered roughly on time.

Yeah, the specific project I'm looking at seems pretty legit; they've run several successful projects before and are already way past their goal.
Thanks for the input!

Some of us have kids in college. This looks interesting for sure.
