Anyone Familiar with making TiVo work with FIOS?

Just out of curiosity, becacuse there's so much weirdness out there "Yes you can" "no you can't" type stuff.. just seeing if anyone has any clue about this kind of thing, because we're switching from DirecTV to Verizon FIOS, I know that the DirecTV box can't be converted to a regular Tivo, but from all I've read about the Verizon DVR box, I'd much prefer my familiar Tivo.. just curious

Regular tivo (not directv tivo) works with Fios but it isn't worth it. You lose out on all of their network delivered stuff like On Demand and PPV.

The Fios DVR has improved a ton - there's is a learning curve, but it really has most of the features you would expect.
