Hey Scoop, I gotta tell you...I read this thingall the time starting when you first posted it a few years ago. I love all of your ideas and would love nothing more than a HS Football game. They always have HS FB on ESPN nowadays, you would think that we would see a game sometime.
I have put some thought into HS football games as well and here are a few notes I can remember off the top of my head.
--a "freshman team" consisting of all 9th graders. You could look at their roster and decide if any of them are good enough to suit up and take the field with the varsity team. The risk/reward in this is that if they would get a lot of playing time with 9th grade, but you have them riding the bench for varsity games, they wouldnt progress as fast as they would if you just let them play Freshman football. Alternatively, if they get solid playing time or are a starter on your varsity team, they would progress at a faster rate than if they had just stayed on the 9th grade team
--When creatign your teams, you choose what their "classification" is, based on enrollment. A school with a single A (A) classification would only have maybe 8-11 incoming freshman each season, where a 6A (AAAAAA) school might have a freshman class of 25 or so. This classification system would help separate the large schools from the small schools and make each team feel unique.
--Piggybacking off my last thought, if you only have a freshman class of 8 athletes, you might have to decide if some of those players are capable of playing both ways. Players would need to have ratings for all skills so that the coach can make a decision as to where the player should play and if they should play O and D. Larger Schools likely wouldnt have to make these decisions as frequently since they have a larger pool of players to choose from for each position.
--I like your idea about booster clubs, Of course, larger schools would have a much easier time raising funds for their massive stadiums where smaller schools would have to save money for years for to do something basic like updating their scoreboard or pressbox. Of course, if your team was winning, it might accelerate the fundraising process. Updating uniforms should be an option at the end of each season, but this would dip into the funds as well. You could keep the same uniforms for 10 years to save a buck, but it would reflect poorly on your program IE Town newspaper making a stink about it or players not wanting to go out for the team because they are afraid of being laughed off the field in their dirty old uniforms. I would say the maximum lifespan of a uniform would be about 5 years, where a pressbox could go 10 or more years before it needs to be repaired or replaced.
I might add some more thoughts here later, but I'll leave it at that tonight!
Again, a great read! It just makes me sad that it isnt a real thing!

Hiya, jWill, yeah, long time.I stayed away primarily due to lack of interest. Madden's made some strides the last couple years IMO so I'm interested again.
Also, I spent some time working for a legal aid firm and was able to verify precisely what I can get sued for and not:P EA legal likes to act like they own your soul when you sign an NDA, so I wanted to know what I'm allowed to talk about before I started putting my opinions out there again.

26 Players are completely edited. They are all on the 76ers & Bucks. The teams won't be finalized for awhile, as I am concentrating on getting the players edited. 76ers & Bucks are playable.

Well it is that time again. MLB the Show 17! I have decided to retire my RTTS player before the start of the show 17. He went 17yrs, hall of fame career, and 10 world series titles. In his last year, 2031 Denny broke the all time HR record with 795 HR's. And road into the sunset winning a world series with the reds.

Glad you like the idea. I have about 200 players created so far, just have to get them edited. I have seen a ton of College Rosters out there, but have yet to see one where they Fully edit the players. Most just edit the attributes. I will post an updated list of the players edited hopefully tonight.

limit the amount of substitutions a team can make in a gamei loved baseball growing up but now that i can stream any show i want watching a baseball game becomes less and less appealing
sports need to compete to win the eye of casual viewers, and 3+ hour games are not the way to go. it seems that hockey and basketball games are taking up less time on tv than they used to. no need for any sporting to event to be longer than 2 hours.

I agree with 1 & 2. Don't play OOTP 17, so I'd have Madden in at 3 followed by NHL 17 & FIFA 17.

Baseball is one of those sports that is actually beginning to feel dated.Hockey is a close second.
Baseball suffers from too many distractions to occupy ones time, and the immediacy of getting things done. Technology is killing baseball, and the game does need to be sped up, unless more entertainment is provided at the ball parks.
The MLB should takes notes from the Japanese. Those games are lively and festive, with each ballpark/team having their own fight songs, alot of flag waving etc. It has a world cup feel to it.
IMO, The lazy afternoon feel of baseball is dated.
as far as rule changes, the game really doesn't need it. If anything should be changed, maybe having a certain amount of foul balls get counted as an out. say after 2 strikes, if a batter fouls off the ball 3 or 4 times it should be considered an out.

"There should never be a clock in baseball of any kind."Rule 8.04:
"When the bases are unoccupied, the pitcher shall deliver the ball to the batter within 12 seconds after he receives the ball. Each time the pitcher delays the game by violating this rule, the umpire shall call 'Ball.'
The 12-second timing starts when the pitcher is in possession of the ball and the batter is in the box, alert to the pitcher."
Rule 6.02(B):
"The batter shall not leave his position in the batter's box after the pitcher comes to Set Position, or starts his windup. PENALTY: If the pitcher pitches, the umpire shall call 'Ball' or 'Strike' as the case may be. The batter leaves the batter's box at the risk of having a strike delivered and called, unless he requests the umpire to call 'Time.' The batter is not at liberty to step and out of the batter's box at will."

I totally agree. Came into this season thinking Irvin was the go-to scorer, and he really let us down for a good portion of the season. His shooting during the big ten tournament was strong though, and Walton made up for it by really taking over. B1G certainly is becoming tougher and tougher. Here's to beating Oklahoma State on Friday.

Irvin was supposed to be the man this season and he has been kinda disappointing to me. Beilein needs to get the recruiting up a bit more. Some of these B1G teams look extremely improved in comparison.

Thanks kp88!I'm not seeing those fatigue related issues, but I do have a tendency to use ALL my timeouts in both halves...
In the first half, if the CPU is on a long drive, my guys are either gassed as well, or there's a lot of my backups on the field...
So, I call time out and everything levels out...
If the CPU has to run a two minute / no huddle at the end of the game, I tend to call one if / when they get in scoring distance...to get my starters back on the field for the critical part of the drive...
It's not perfect, but it works...
Otherwise, you miss too many benefits of what higher fatigue can engender:
More varied / organic performances / more penalties and missed assignments / rotation and injuries that makes backups matter, etc...

Hey King!So I've had the chance to play 6 games or so since your last update, and I'm certainly impressed by the new patch. The variance is great, and ratings matter more than they have in some time. I'm actually noticing that they may matter too much! If a team is even slightly worse than me, it feels like they have no chance.
I'm also noticing some minor issues late in games that seem to be related to fatigue, so I'm going to be experimenting with that a bit. Things like too many false starts and too many missed blocks in a short amount of time.
These issues could certainly be attributed to difference in play style, so I was wondering if you were testing any additional changes, or had any suggestions.
As always, many thanks!

You never know @Bigg Cee. Petitions and a overwhelming want by fans can make things happen. I got this from a few producers and this petition is limited to EA. We never know if 2K can recover from it's mistake of using an outside production company. Heck, we don't know what other companies like Sony can do in this day and age. I need numbers and support to get attention drawn to fans wanting a boxing game as bad as they say.

Kool, your CLE stats look good...that Chase Daniel thing could be more related to Madden's "backup QB syndrome"...
Those guys often play lights out, for no good reason...

I'm playing the same CFM (CLE) and in my game, Wentz went 66%...
The variance is in there, which I expect will come further to the fore, as you play though more games...
Enjoy!

Hey bud thanks for your reply. I put your sliders in exactly on the 1st page and it played very well.Started a brand new Browns cfm and went down 28-17. Matthews hit 100 yards on the ground from 24 carries. So was stoked about that. Joe Thomas was rock solid at LT which was great.
Only thing that stood out was chase Daniel 17 from 19 in the rain, but hey beggers can't be choosers.
Thanks mate looking forward to the next game, liked the variations of plays to, from the 1/75 fatigue.
